Peterson 80w Suitcase Preamp - Effects Loop
« on: March 28, 2017, 07:01:07 AM »
Hi all,

Can someone clarify which mono 1/4" sockets I need to build the effects loop?

From the Vintage Vibe video it says they've used a closed jack (aka tip shunt.) Is it required for both of the sockets or just one?

Thanks

Tim

You only need one of the "switching" jacks.  Basically, signal passes by the accessory loop if nothing is plugged in.  If you do plug in a cable, it diverts the signal to the loop.  The second jack is just the return, and is only used when signal is diverted.  You technically don't need to divert signal on the return jack, because you have to return signal regardless.  Suitcases came factory with one of each... you can sort of make them out here (though they look tampered with).
