Hi friends

I have started restoration work on the PSU that Steveo kindly sold me as a project and would like to replace the bridge rectifier diodes as one shows as shorted. Can any tech minded members give me advice on a modern replacement for the diode. The schemo just says 3amp 100V

According to friends on the Rhodes facebook page any 3A 100V will do so I have ordered some Shottkey ones.

I would think a garden-variety 1N5403 would have been your first choice, but since they cost about the same (fifty cents) as 1N5407 and 1N5408, you might as well get the 1N5408.  I imagine that the higher voltage rating means they will be more durable in circuit.

Doubtful that a Schottky diode would be any better fit in a bridge rectifier.

Which Schottky diode did you select?
