Doesn't seem like Dyno was restored. Guy says it's been stored for a while and that everything is in good condition.

Going to try and try out both this week. Leaning towards suitcase. Had a stage Mark II about 10 years ago and sold it along with my Roland JC 120 so would have to get an amp again if I went with a stage.

Is $3K for a fully restored by vintage vibe Mark II suitcase a fair price? Wooden keys.

What about for a 1979 Mark II stage with Dyno?

Yea man, i agree that speakeasy has some bad customer service. I called them to ask if they lubricated their pedestal felts and what kind of lube they used (silicone, or teflon).  First thing they said was "Well you dont sound like you know what your doing so if I were you I wouldnt touch your rhodes." So looks like if I want an opinion I suddenly dont know anything.  They deliver fast but their customer service is the worst ever. Steve is someone you wouldnt really wanna have a conversation with because he tends to be a little cocky, at least that was my first impression.

Ive heard good things about the clarifier and the mp3's ive heard are nice proof. I just emailed major key a few days to order one. So hopefully ill have a reply in two weeks or so. You can replace any keys on any rhodes as long as theyre the same model keys. Your problem seems to be the key cap that cracked. You can replace the key cap without replacing the keys. A local piano shop might have key caps to match yours or ebay but they usually sell large numbers of key caps not individual ones. Go and check. Hope this helps.

so i searched the forum to find out how to get rid of the rust on the tines and pick ups and found the answer for tines (wenol metal polish for me). But couldnt find much of an answer on the pick ups. What should i use for rust on the pick ups that wont damage it. Does the rust affect the sound at all, i think it might, but i dunno. Any response is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

So guys, in your opinions and experiences, what do u think is the best fuzz wah pedal for a rhodes, or jus a wah wah, you know. How bout the best distortion pedal. Thanks in advance.

Possible to put felt bushing in plastic keys? outta curiosity, is it possible? if yes or no, then y?

What kind of the metal is the hardware? is it aluminum (i dont think so, but am not sure)? would it be ok to use CLR on it (CLR=Calcium, Lime, Rust, remover...u cant use CLR on aluminum) it can be used for chrome and other metals. so im guessing most of the outer hardware is chrome which is wat i need to clean. are any of the pieces metallic glazed..thats also a no use with CLR.

ok so as i was dissassembling my mark II for the retolexing i noticed the adjustable balance rail. i searched the board and it seems it changes the keys action to lighter or heavier. I never really looked into changing my key action cuz the feel was never like a digital piano (maybe the previous owner is to thank for this and yes i know theyre plastic keys). Ive played my friends fender rhodes mark 1 with wooden keys and the difference in feel is minimal and i mean minimal. and not like his is better, theyre jus barely different. ok well i was jus wondering which notch in the case is heavy feel and which notch is light feel and if u have tried this, which do u prefer. I'll probably keep it on the back notch since its always been there but im jus curious.

this is a random question, i went to buy some stuff for my restoration, and i noticed theres different kinds of weldwood contact cement...theres original, non flammable, and gel...i bought the non flammable cuz on the back it said on applications: cloth backed vinyl to itself or board. Any1 had experience with this. Any useful feedback is welcome.

Hey guys im restoring my Mark II and need some opinions. I'm doing a silver sparkle top and wanted to know if u guys think black tolex or cream tolex would look better with it. It needs retolexing so I'm wondering wat u guys think. Remember its a mark II that will have a silver sparkle top. Think about it, thanks guys.

Cool, that price sounds fair, i only need to do the bottom cuz i have no top, and since ive never really needed one, i never looked into it. anyway u think 1 yard or two of the cream tolex is good for just the bottom. (do u happen to know wat kind of vinyl to use and how much it cost, jus thought id ask, if u know) lol sry if its alot of quesitons, im in the process of restoring my rhodes and id like to know from some1 who has experience.

ok so the rhodes top is made of fiberglass, interesting...so after i sand, repair cracks with fiberglass jelly, clean with soap and water, prime it, and lay down two coats of silver, you want me to wet it with water? then sand it, then buff it? i get everything after that, but i dont get the part of wetting and sanding after putting on the coats of silver..I appreciate any response. Hey guys, I have a Fender Rhodes Mark II, its in pretty nice shape, i havent gotten it tuned in a while so I think im gonna go do that this week or next. Anyway Im posting because ever since i got the Rhodes (for free, can you believe that??) the top always seemed kind of beat. Its in one piece but like its not completely black, it looks like the colors fading. I wanna get it to look like the silver sparkle top in the pictue on the super site. You know the Rhodes 54 that John Mclaren from major key built. I think that silver sparkle finish looks great. Does any1 know how i can paint the lid to make it look like that and not have it chip off later?

P.S. at speakeasy it said Boston Rhodes tech John Della Vecchia sent in instructions for it and that speakeasy would send em to whoever requested them. Ted Thompson wont give them to me because he says there is a flaw in the process.

I hope some1 has a good idea as to wat to do. Thanks in advance.
