I've got a Cp70 that I've had for a bit and have yet to get leveling feet for it. Before I tear the whole thing down to throw 15 bolts and try different size. Does anyone know the thread size of the little leveling feet that go in the bottom?

Like the doctor said. The Vintage vibe is a little more driven sonically. The two amps are also different circuits. The vintage vibe being closer to the original design than the warneck. I've installed quite a few vintage vibe ones and been very happy with them. I may try a warneck soon.

Any body have an extra set of Wurli wheel legs IE the 215v or similar for sale?

Or maybe a genius way of attaching wheels?

I've got a 215v that I'm planning that above chop. I've done it with wooden dowels and plan next to do it with piano balance rail pins to keep it tight. Never seen the pedal and legs idea inside though, thats very clever.

If you're planning the chop, make sure to put a 8ohm load on that speaker output when you disconnect the speakers. otherwise you'll learn the hard way like I did. I have a 206a that disconnects only for movement and you can't tell the difference when its together or apart that it comes into two pieces.

I've been using balance rail/ front rail shims for it. Its what I had seen in the 5 other pianos I had refurbed so I figured it would be good.

So true, but at least I can get notes up to pretty good sustain. All but one or two on each harp.

Long time reader/hobby refurb guy.

I'm working with some 1969 Wurlitzer student models and the harps have not been shimmed and I'm trying to get the harp  un-tweaked. Any tips from you pro guys on how best to shim the harp and maximize ring time across the piano?

Looking to get ahold of a hum shield for a wurli. Anyone got any laying around?

How did you end up getting those rusted tuning springs loose? I have the same problem here on a Rhodes Bass

Currently re capping a wurli and a bit new to this. I'm using just some music as a sound source now through the amp and I'm noticing that as the volume is turned up, so does the frequency range of the amp. Almost like it's raising the freq on a low pass filter. Is this normal or should I anticipate this dissapearing as I continue to recap the board?

It's a 1969 revision 206 amp btw

Yeah, that was to keep students from unplugging the headphones/microphone from the module below the keyboard on the 206a model. Wonder why its inside the piano and not below it?

I placed an order according to those specs, I'll post some before and after pics when it's all done!

Refurbishing a Rhodes Piano Bass for the first time. I have experience refurbishing some rhodes and Wurlitzer's but wondering if theres anything I need to know for the bass.

First: Damper felts and Grommets/screws, do they just follow the same as a typical Rhodes? I need to replace all of them on this particular one, its pretty beat.

Cleaning pickups, these things are a bit corroded, but they do all work. How do you typically clean these?

So I purchased a 206a and just finished chopping it and modifying the speaker wiring to let me disconnect and reconnect the base.

Here's what I did. I took the red and black wire that were wired into the speaker switcher, snipped them before that switch and wired them straight to the speakers by means of a 1/4 jack installed into the case and a 1/4 cable to the speakers. I turned it on and it was working for a solid 10 seconds and then I saw a small spark around the amp to volume switch output on the PCB and the volume dropped/amp distorted.


I'm hoping someone can let me know if its just a blown cap or if I did something horrendously wrong by bypassing that switch.

Any results with the lubricant? I'm having similar issues and am about to do the WD-40 deal tomorrow to mine.
