1975 Suitcase 88 - deal or no deal?

Found a local 1975 suitcase 88 that seems to be in excellent condition - checked it out last night and it plays well although the action is a bit heavy for my taste.

Aesthetically, the piano half has some nicks/scratches but the amp itself is near spotless.

He's asking around $2,000 - am I crazy or is that a ripoff?  Seems high considering that the ones out of Vintage Vibe are the same price but are usually completely restored and flawless.

Seems high to me. Just keep in mind they aren't rare.

Considering that the action is not to your liking, and the price is top dollar, I think you can find a Rhodes that it better suited to your needs for less money.

Yeah you're probably right... and there are some improvements that I can make to the 1975 that I already have.  Maybe I'll just hold out for a separate amp for sale (FR-7054)!
