I've got a chopped 206a with no speakers. I have it temporarily hooked up to an old 5.25" speaker I took out of my car. Is there any reason to try to find some wurly specific speakers, or can I just put any 4x8 speakers in?
I think I can make some mounting brackets out of sheet metal and drill/tap holes in the amp mounting plate to mount them, so that part wouldn't be an issue.

The original speakers are not exactly 4x8, but close. As long as they are not coaxial speakers, they should be ok. If you can find specific speakers meant for musical instrument amps, then even better. They should be able to handle 20-30 watts safely.

I dont think it matters that much, but I could be wrong. I think a 206 amp puts out more than a 200 or 200A. Those amps are around 18 watts peak, I BELIEVE the 206A is over 20 watts. Just remember that the low A on a Wurli is 55 hz, so the speakers should be able to handle that at relatively high volume. It will depend on how loud you plan on running your internal amp on a regular basis. If you are not sure, go with a higher RMS rating. Dont go too high,or you could possibly lose efficiency.

206A does not have speakers on the plate- they get mounted easily into the hood. We have everything you need at Vintage Vibe for this job to look and sound like an original . Our speakers are made to original specs for us for the Wurlitzer Electric Piano and are great !

My 206A doesn't have mounting holes in the top, so either way I have to drill holes. I'd just prefer 200 style mounting, as it would look better from the outside (my wurly top is dyed red, black flower head screws will stick out a lot).

When I checked VV before, they weren't in stock, and no price was listed. Good to see there is one now.

Are the speakers 8 ohms, 10 ohms, or 4 ohms?
