Title: Radio Interference
Post by: Paolão on May 24, 2004, 09:16:35 AM
Hi There!
How can I prevent the radio interference when I recording my Fender Rhodes through  the external amplifier's outputs direct into Pro Tools or into a Tascam Portastudio?
Thanks!

Hi :-)
Chances are that you have a ground loop problem. Both, the Piano and the ProTools computer have an earth connection via the power cable. If you connect an audio cable, the ground loop is closed via the cable shield which causes hum and interference.

Use a line iso-box or a DI-Box to record into your ProTools system or Tascam recorder.

looks like this...

Thanks for your help on the subject Jens! I'll try to use a Di–Box to record next time.
