Hi all!
I recently purchased my first Rhodes electromechanical piano.
It took about 11 months for the piano to be ordered, built and shipped — it's the Mark VIII.
My first question is, generally, how does the Rhodes piano work? How is its signal different from that of an electric guitar, or electric bass?
What does a pre-amp do? Why would a musician consider replacing or upgrading the pre-amp?
As my amp, I purchased the JC-40, but recently discovered that the MK8 isn't well suited due to the fact a JC-40 prefers a signal that's high impedance and low voltage; the opposite of the signal leaving the pre-amp of a Rhodes piano.
Is there a brochure, pdf or "simply illustrated" guide out there?
Many thanks,
-Matt
