Its a '79 mk I 88 key suitcase....pretty much any note above middle C kinda hurts my ears...on almost any volume setting. I know the solid state amp is going to be way less warm than say a stage rhodes thru a twin reverb, but why is this thing sooo shrill? Thanks!

ahh ok..dry pup signal sounds like a nice idea! Well, its not like I dont appreciate the suitcase--I love it. Its just that I think the amp needs servicing. The tone is very very fuzzy, and when the keys are played with any attack, it crackles like crazy. This piano to amp deal will i guess be temporary. Thanks for the help though!

Hello, I recently adopted a very nice mark 1 suitcase from my dad's school. (it was sitting in the closet rotting) What I want to do is put the rhodes thru a nice amp and lose the suitcase amp. (im not a huge solid-state fan!) Anyways, the input cable going from the piano is a strange one: its like an xlr only with 6 small prongs. Basically I want to use a 1/4" cable...so long explanation short: piano to amp....how can I acheive thise? Thanks so much!
