I replaced the entire preamp by a new, low noise one, because these things indeed can be very noisy.

As you can see in the pic of my Pianet in the other post, I did the shielding thing too...

Let me know if replacing the transistor solved the issue, I might do that in the old preamp that's laying around here :-)

My Pianet N was extremely noisy, even after amp-rework and additional shielding.
I ended up replacing the preamp by an up-to-date version of it.  (available at Ep Service Holland)

Not sure if it will fit a Pianet L model.

There's a company, EP service in Holland, selling new preamps for Pianets.
Might worth a try.
By the way, I also added a volume knob since I just don't own a pedal :-)

The thing is, I own a Cembalet (!) and I don't know the reeds for the different kinds of Pianets and Cembalet are interchangeable.

I do have a few Wurlitzer 200 spare reeds, so maybe I can use this ones ?

Warneck amp is tha bomb ! :-)

Yesterday I bought a set from them on ebay.
Want to try it out 

I fixed it with Epoxy 2K glue (you have to mix these 2 things yourself) and it will never fall apart again.
No need to buy a whole new leg ...

I see on their site, the 200 amp is listed as BACK IN STOCK, so I assume they were out of stock too :-)
I guess it won't take long when they're available again, it's the best thing ever made !

Did you solve the motorboat issue ?

Check if the noise comes out of both the aux jack and the speakers also if it's not a tine issue.. could be a power transistor issue.
But maybe it's just some debris on the comb and tines causing intermitant shorting.

Hit the instrument with your hand...Does that cause any noises? Looking for loose connections or hardware.

I regret all the times I spent replacing bad transistors, I just had to put in my Retrolinear Warneck  amp from the beginning.. If I only knew ;-)
Would have saved me lots of trouble, time and money.

I'm not too sure about that Marcel curve either.
I always thought that de keys of my own Rhodes had the Marcel curve as you can see in my pic.

Yes, it's a midifile full of sysex data.
You have to send this to your U220 with some kind of DAW or similar.
Make sure to set the tempo very slowly ! :-)

I have a file for the U20 (not the U220) wich works perfectly.

Since I installed the lovely Warneck amp in my 200A, I wanna get rid of my old amp.
Also for sale the original pre-amp and the VintageVibe remake.

All the three of them have always worked properly in my Wurlitzer.

I prefer shipping within Europe as I'm afraid losing money on shipping costs to U.S 

Strangely I've got not a single feedback on European sites (2dehands, kapaza, marktplaats,...)
So let''s give it a try on this forum ;-)

What about a Warneck replacement amp ?
Isn't inexpensive,  but it's worth every penny ! 

VV is too busy building their own piano's I guess...

Me too want those dampers so badly.
Our UK supplier, electrickeys.co.uk, listed them as "to come" so I'm keeping the dream alive ! :-D

Hehe, I also got ugly keys from VV once. (Rhodes & Wurlitzer)
When you order 'brand new' reeds for Wurlitzer, they send you used ones ....

Anyway,
Don't have any experience replacing key tops, but can't you sand and polish them ?
There's a nice Rhodes video from VV where they show you that.

Every positive review about this board is SO true.

After a year of being in doubt what to do (Warneck amp, VV amp, original amp, ...) I'm convinced I made the right decision.
Difference is night and day...

As I read the instructions, it seems like I don't need the pre-amp (in the center of the pickup-bar) anymore ...
Is that right ?
Like just throw it away and connect the RCA cable instead of the pre-amp ?

English is not my main language, so I wanna be sure :-)

If I won't need that pre-amp anymore, too bad, I installed a brand new VV-remake a few months ago, so I wasted my money on that ;-)

@JayBee : When VV confirmed their amp work properly, did you mention the "pretty big drop in level when turning the vib on, the old amp didn't do this" ??

Did VV confirm they're available in the future ?
Been waiting for them quite a while, but they don't seem to appear on the VV site :-)

Have you tried setting your strikeline properly ?
It was my key to succes about sustain issues in the treble area.

I never experimented with tine blocks wedged under tonebars :-)
