Reviving this old topic. Does anyone have a lead on these legs and plates? I have a customer that's looking for a set. Pics in the link.

Sadly there is no shim on the bass side of the piano to remove.

Unless my eyes are deceiving me, I can see a shim on the harp support on the bass side.

You can get the felt punchings from Vintage Music Parts in Portugal. As to paper and card punchings, I have no idea.

As I recall, Oberheim used handles a bit shorter than Fender and the caps were a bit more square. At the time Peavey used a similar one. Of course this was 40 years ago and just like every one else suppliers go out of business and may be impossible to source. You may want to check Reliable Hardware who has some different than standard models.

Great find, the Peavey ones were virtually a perfect match and my client was extremely happy.

Thanks for the help :)

They're a good find.... thanks.

I'll check with my client if he'll be happy with either a Peavey one which is more similar than the Fender or the super heavy duty one from Reliable Hardware. He could use the strap and change the end caps. Fingers crossed one will do!

Hmmmm....I think there must be something wrong with that website as I can't access that page.

If it was as simple as providing a Fender replacement, my client could have some that I sell from VV. However I wouldn't say that he is fussy, but he knows what he wants and it's exact replicas; whether they be brand new or NOS.

I feel like I'm not going to get very far with this line of enquiry.

Naturally the first thing I did was check all the major suppliers for handles and none of them match.

You can see in the attached photo the handles that I'm after. It is very similar to the cheap Fender style handles that you can find but not an exact match.

I have contacted several US companies that have done restorations on 4 Voices, so I am hopeful they may provide some insight. Also I have some leads here in the UK that I will look into this week. There must be a NOS of them out there somewhere.

I'm not sure how searching for Tolex will yield handles specific to an Oberheim 4 Voice?

As the Subject states, I'm looking for 4 replacement case handles for an Oberheim 4 Voice.

I can't find any info on the Net as to who made the case hardware for them and have no idea who to contact.

Any help on this matter would be much appreciated.

As we are a new company any feedback you would like to give would be really appreciated.

I´m missing tines and pickups between your products.

If possible, I would like to see prices in euros aswell ;)

It is now possible to pay with Euros little george.

In fact we now accept payment in EUR, USD, CAS, CHF & YEN as well as GBP

Say goodbye to conversion fees - we'll cover the cost!

Just choose from the currency selector at the top of the screen and pay via any method other than Paypal.

If this works well, we'll consider extending the list of currencies accepted.

Well it does say for balance rail and front rail pins. I guess running a drill at a low speed might be wise to begin with.
#13
Have you reported your findings back to VV?

I would imagine it would need a polishing compound, I can't see how it could be effective otherwise.

Interestingly though, having been looking at this thread on the Piano Tech Guild website, it appears there is a tool made by Coleman for polishing key pins and a recommendation on which metal polish to use.

https://www.colemantools.com/product-page/key-pin-polisher
https://www.flitz.com/flitz-polish-paste/
#14
Have you tried the Jack Springs from VV?

Also this tool looks pretty useful.

I don't know if it would be effective with rust though.
#15
No offense taken, it's just the nature of the beast when importing goods.

Hi Abraham,

I've got the Vintage Vibe sets in stock here:

https://www.electrickeys.co.uk/collections/wurlitzer-hardware/products/wurlitzer-200a-speaker-flower-head-screw-set

If you're in Europe, the shipping would be pretty cheap.

Cheers

Excellent! I know where to come if I need any more  ;D

That's a great find!
#19
Hi Tim,

You got some Waldom WA 1550 Round Pointer Knobs in stock?

Do you want to send me a pm with a price?

Thanks
Christian

Thanks again Tim  :)
#21
Thanks Tim, I've passed this information on.

Would be great to find some originals though in good nick.

Hi all!

Hopefully someone out there can help. I have a client that needs replacement control knobs for his 1962 Piano Bass. He'd be happy with either white or brown knobs.

I know these are as rare as Hen's teeth, but if there are any around, I'm sure you guys would know. So if you have any you wouldn't mind selling, or know of anyone I can get in touch with, that would be amazing.

Thanks
Christian

I have a bunch of Balance Rail pins that measure 2-1/8" (53.98mm)L x .146" (3.71mm) dia. if you're interested.

Wishing you every success David, you'll do a great job!

QuoteI wish he had clips of him playing the Rhodes by itself.

I echo that, I'll send him a message and see if he'll agree to do some.

Here's another of my personal favourites and another video uploaded by Steven Kruyswijk. And I love how happy he is to be playing it!

Now that's a toughie! There's so many good examples out there, but also so many bad ones too!

If it's piano tone you're after, I haven't found a better example than Tom O'Grady's Suitcase. With so many great tracks to choose from on his YouTube channel, I put forward my personal favourite Jamiroquai cover:

Hi, I don't mean to highjack this thread looking for a sale. But if you fancy new bass damper arms, I'll have some in stock Monday/Tuesday next week. Also I can send you some felt to use on the pitman/dowel if you like.
#29
Julian & Tim - thanks for the comments- it's been a real pleasure helping you guys out.

Goncalo - thanks for ordering from us, I believe your parcel was delivered today.

Also you all may like to know that we will be stocking some Wurlitzer parts soon and plan to expand our product range throughout the year. And as to Rhodes parts - well we'll definitely be offering more in that department too, some of which we're very excited about. Sign up for the Newsletter and follow us on Facebook and Twitter. We'll publish details of our new products on those platforms when they're ready for sale later this year.

Hi Martin,

Have you been in touch with Doug at Klassic Keys? I know he's not in the North West, but he is a Wurly specialist so it maybe worth travelling the extra miles. Here's a link to his website:

The latest news on the Ad board is that it has been slightly delayed. We're now looking at maybe another 2 weeks as the back end development is taking longer than expected to do.

I hope to have some screen shots which I can share with you all soon.

Hi everyone,

An exciting new development of the Electric Keys website is currently in progress. All being well by the end of this month there will be an advertising board for the sale of all manner of Electric Pianos and Keyboards. The best thing for all of you wishing to use this advertising board is that it will be absolutely FREE! There'll be NO listing fees, and NO transaction fees. Later we will introduce some Premium features which will be announced in due course.

Sellers will be able to advertise as many pianos/keyboards as they like, upload 5 images for each listing, receive notifications and manage their account preferences.

Buyers will be able to browse by brand, price and location with the ability to view individual products and images, add to favourites, refine their search, enquire about an item and receive notifications.

Both sellers and buyers will be able to communicate with each other via the internal mail system.

We are at Electric Keys are extremely excited about this new venture, it is a bold one as we are competing against the likes of Ebay, Gumtree and Craig List. However we feel strongly that there is a need for a dedicated Ad board for the Electric Piano Community and we are happy to provide that.

Any questions or feedback will be gratefully received.

We're now taking custom orders for Wurlitzer parts. If Vintage Vibe stock it, we can get it for you. Don't expect to see them stocked on the website yet, they are only ordered upon request.

Thanks for the feedback Tim. I'm really pleased you are happy with the service.

I have a few other customers with custom orders right now too. It's great to see demand for products, as it proves that there is a need for a company like mine in the UK. Also it is helping drive which products are being stocked on the website - saves me the headache of deciding what to buy next!!

Julian,

At about 17 mins into this VV video, it explains that the grain needs to be horizontal or you'll get some chirping!

It appears that no-one has posted any videos of Cinematic Orchestra, so I'm happy to be the first.

Great Rhodes sound, great everything!!

Hi all,

Stage and Suitcase Name Plates are now in stock for Mark I pianos. Also stock that is on it's way include:

VV Pickups
Pedals
Sustain Rods
All other products to do with sustain (including damper bar bushings martin :) )
#43
Yes of course I can do that, or you can subscribe to the newsletter here and you'll be amongst the first to know.
#44
Not currently - they are planned along with pedals and sustain rods next month.
#45
QuoteI see you're about to stock the Octave Damper Strips - Bass, Mid & Treble.
Did VV confirm they're available in the future ?
Been waiting for them quite a while, but they don't seem to appear on the VV site :-)

Well that is the plan, I too am waiting for VV to stock them. The list of stock in the other thread is a planned stock list over the course of this year. Some will arrive in the shop sooner than others and the damper strips are dependent on when VV get them.
#46
Hi Martin,

If you're interested in knowing what we plan to stock in the future, take a look at this thread.

I will be putting in a large stock order this week, so if there is anything in the list of products from that thread you'd like to see sooner than later, just let me know.

Hi all. New tines, tine springs and back check kits are now in stock.

For those of you that aren't subscribed to the website you can view the Newsletter here that went out yesterday.

Don't worry I won't fill the forums up with spam, this is the last time I'll post a link to the Newsletter.
#48
It's very nice to be appreciated :)

I know I'm a bit biased because I sell these, but on a personal note I have them installed on 10 notes in my own piano and I too was really impressed. Prior to installing them I had doubled up bass springs on the problem notes, but as Voltergeist said:
QuoteI thought they sounded pretty good before, but the fat springs took it to another level - big, full, and focused.

I whole heartedly agree!

Also I'm sure if you search on ebay for compression springs you may find springs with the right diameter to fit the sparkletops.

Just a quick heads up to say new tines have been ordered and are on the their way. They will cost a little more than quoted earlier, but not by much.

If you subscribe to the newsletter you'll be the first to know when they're ready for purchase.
