I have a extra set of the reed bar shields for the 200 series that I bought from VV.  I tried to install on a 726 model but they didn't fit right. If you need them I will sell for $40.  Just as a side note. But on the question of which to use, I would say both.

I am up to the electrionc section of tune up and tightn before another two months out gigging. All the adavice from Stevo, max, and chris have been awesome. I regultatd the let off onthe 200a fairley easy after going thruough all the key and eased and inspected , I did take a small file and sanded down the keys that had edges splitting. eased the pins. vaccumed out, changed out the power recepttcale to a IME.
Tuned and voiced with peterson strobe, twice thru. Attempted to add soilder on two notes and after threee attempts with no trays nailed it in pitch. filed all others to pyramid shape.  New Gommets on the entire damper system .  Adjusted the letoff on a few noticible keys to. 
Move on to the next step. Electronincs. ......................I have two line fuse holders,  help with best way to do this? what size fuse?  but also what are the pros and cons of playing around with the settings on r11 andr12 ?

Thanks Steve,  i have removed the shields and plan on testing with the meter.  I also made a power cable with the ground wire splitting off from the two prong on the amp and screwed it down to the chasis. Im thinking i will take the two ground wires from the sustain pedal and the reed bar and wire them down to the chasis as well, otherwise its not really grounded.

Thanks to you both for the guidance. I replaced six of them.  Take them off is harder than putting them on, but with respect it was a gentle process. Action on those keys do seem a little quieter. Good to have some of these in bag, just in case.

That is just adjusting the hex screw on top right? All of the grommets seem to be doing their job. I am in the middle of voicing and tuning it. It seems after a month of gigs it is already in need of a tune-up. I have a 726 that has a one or two bad grommets. Can I just replace those or do I need to do the whole when I change one?

Yeah ive replaced the one in the Rhodes, these are for the wurlitzer sold by vv, they recommend replacing them.

Ive got a set of grommets from vv, and before I embark two questions
How do you know when they are in need of replacing?

And are there any tips for installation that wouldn't seem obvious?

Where was this thread when I was adding the miracle mod?  Good information all around.  Does anyone think the replacing the back rail felt will change how the key sits on the bumb?  Im going back in and replacing that felt because I really overlooked the importance of replacing when I was on my first overhaul attempt. Im assuming it will also help with noisy action and possible bouncing hammers.  Any experienced advisers on this?

In my recent experience I found good results voicing/tuning straight off the harp.  I have a wah that I use with it that sounds great.
Check the wah you  are using.

I got this one and it works with all vintage gear.  He will install a gain control for no extra charge if you ask.

Ok, so remove the hum shield.  That will definitely take care of the damper arm issue. would tge the ground wires then just be stapled to the body where its painted?  Would it help to replace the wire with a shielded one?
Also what is the purpose of the square pieces on top of the reeds on the octave up from middle c?

One of the pics is of the bottom notes. The damper arms are hitting and resting on the hum shield. Any suggestions on how to remedy that?
Aside from the two pics of the ground wire hanging, I put one of the harp.  I did take the harp out when cleaning it out. The upper octaves having a volume and a stikeline issue didn't begin till I put it back on. If that helps in offering me any solutions.

both of the grounding wires are mounted. one is on the sustain plate screw and one is mounted under the pick up rail screw coming from the 140b.  but both wires just dangle about 6 in down not EVER COMINg in contact with anything unless I wrap then around the wood brace along the back. ill get pics

I have a 726b that I have been cleaning up. I took the reed bar off during the initial cleaning of the piano and since I have put everything back together the reed bar or pick up rail on the upper octaves is at a very low volume. The notes start to drop in volume roughly around E4 through the rest of the notes up. Any idea?  It didn't seem to do this before, but I also had just been given it when I started to clean it out. Also, there is a threaded grounding wire in two different spots that doesn't connect to each other or anything else. They just hang about 6 in. down. Shouldn't they ground to something on both ends?
