Amps, Effects & Recording Techniques / Re: Orange amp ?

I tried a Bass Terror (on a 8x10 ampeg cab). It was quitte good, really loud without crunching. The only thing not really convincing was the eq, but probably normal with a bass amp...

At the same place there was a Vox AC30. I found it really great, with an original and warm tone!!

Amps, Effects & Recording Techniques / Orange amp ?
November 18, 2017, 04:33:51 AM
Hi,
i'm looking for my new amp (i own a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, quite good but with a few problems : loudness, 1x12 (I'd prefer 2x12), reverb just ok).

So, it's difficult to find on the web informations about the couple Orange and Rhodes.
I'm in love with those amps for guitar.
i'm listening to Stevie Wonder in 1972 in NYC on YTube, he's playing his Rhodes thru an Orange amp. A bit crunchy, but what a sound ! (even if the sound of the vid is not perfect).

The Thunderverb 50 seems to be perfect on the paper : reverb, quality, attenuator (!), eq...
Paired with a 2x12 like PPC212 should be great.
But I can't hear it...

Did you ? (or an other Orange amp)

Thx a lot !

Hi there,
newbie on this forum, I'm french and own a Fender Rhodes stage mk1 73, 1971. Quite glad with it !

My amp is at the moment a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. It's ok, nice warm sound, but I'd prefer a 2x12 (just 1x12 in this combo). The Hot Rod is also a bit too loud (never up to 3/10). The reverb is ok, no more.
I'm looking for another solution, with tubes but way to play at home and for little gigs.

Ok to share with someone who'd like to know more about the Hot Rod.
