Ok, I know these things are obnoxiously heavy, and strange one trick ponies, but I am quite excited about this keyboard along with this awesome rolly stand. Since my Rhodes is at the practice space I wanted something to practice on with a real piano keybed. I got this for $80, and the stand was from Santa, haha. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NPXHXCY/?coliid=I3IUH5GAYZ77NX&colid=1B4VIKC3ZRFPG&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it)

The stand is extremely durable. The K88's nickname is now "The Destroyer" since it already collapsed and destroyed another one of my stands that I thought was pretty heavy duty. So, here is my practice zone for lest than $200:

I love the huge flat surface that the K88 provides for other keyboards, effects, or to spread music out on.

Preamps, Modifications & Upgrades / Re: Retroflyer Preamp

Hey all I just wanted to add my own experience with the RetroFlyer, I purchased a few months ago for my Mark I Stage 73. Im absolutely in love with the sound of my Rhodes ever since I put it in. I can't tell you how much time I spent obsessing over my Rhodes tone before I bought the retroflyer hahaha, and when I put it in it was finally like "ahhhhhh". I use it with a Roland Space Echo RE-201 as well, and it really help drives the thing properly. Most importantly the stereo outs really sealed the deal for me, as I play with two Twin Reverbs, one clean and one with the RE-201. It brought together so many pieces of the puzzle and was insanely easy to put in. If you are, like I was, maniacally scavenging for some solution to your Rhodes tone, I really don't think you can go wrong for the price.

Hi all. I am working on my mad scientist idea of a rhodes rig and was wondering if anyone would have any suggestions. Just to curb any shouting down of using two twin reverbs, i play in a very spacy almost Sigur Ros style band and the rhodes is the primary melodic instrument over live drums and bass so I need to push a ton of air. The two twin reverbs is what I've arrived at so far and I am very happy.

Currently I'm sending my Rhodes' signal straight into the instrument input on a roland re-201 space echo. The output goes to the input of a DL-4 which splits the signal to the two amps. It's totally killing my tone. The space echo is an absolute necessity. The dl-4 is really just for the purpose of splitting the signal, its all i have on hand at the moment. If i remove the effects the life is back in my tone, it is night and day. Even just the space echo seems to be really deadening my tone. I want all the intricacies of the naked rhodes tone and to blend in the amazingness of the space echo ontop of that while splitting the signal to two amps.

I've been looking around at splitter DIs but I haven't found what I've envisioned. Perhaps there is a player out there that has done something similar?

Any suggestions? Anyone come across a DI splitter that includes an effects loop? Would my best option be a small mixer to do this, and if so, if anyone could recommend a model that doesn't destroy the tone I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks a lot for your time.

Hi all, first post here. I have a 73 stage piano going through a 72 Twin Reverb. It sounds super full and loud for the most part, but once it hits the rails and breaks up at all it is really crunchy and unpleasant sounding. It's not the speakers, which are Eminence Legends, because i can easily recreate the same sound with another cabinet. Also, the Reverb is super harsh, super high frequency gainy kcchhhhhhhhhh sounding thing if I turn it up past amount 2 or so. However, this amp screams with guitar, sounds freaking awesome. I'm wondering if anyone has done any work trying different tubes or anything with a Twin thats tweaked it specifically for Rhodes because it seems to be functioning perfectly for guitar.
