Sean: the preamp is the Peterson 4-pin with Satellite speakers, not the Janus. The preamp has not been rebuilt or otherwise modified - I am the original owner of the piano. The annoying thump/beat has been there for a long time.  The thread you referenced seems to describe the exact problem I'm hearing.  Hopefully the solution will work. Thanks.

I have a '75 piano w/ satellite speakers.  Everything sounds great, but when the vibrato is turned on there is a low-level beat heard through the speakers that varies with the vibrato speed.  I also have a cheek-block power supply for the preamp so I can use a different amp.  The beat is audible through the different amp as well.  Any thoughts on how to fix this annoyance?

Somehow I've lost one of the screw studs that the vinyl strap snaps to on the leg compartment.  It's very annoying for the strap to be flopping around in the otherwise pristine case. Anybody know the correct size and where I can find one? I think it's something like this:

but I don't need a hundred of them and don't know if it's the correct size.

I'm getting ready to do this on my '75 Stage using denatured alcohol.  Stupid question I can't seem find the answer to looking through the forum or in the VV video:  In the VV video, it looks like the entire action is flipped over on the bench.  Have the damper modules and bridle straps been detached prior to flipping over the action to work on the felts? Or do you remove damper modules/bridle straps first, and then flip over to remove the hammer cam felts? Or do something different?

Thanks.  Short term I'll apply a little felt to the hammers.  Long term I'll move it all to the pedestal, probably with the bump mod.

Looking closer at the plastic hammers: there is NO felt on the key pedestals. Instead, there IS a white stick-on felt on the bottom of the plastic hammers where it touches the key pedestal. But, on some keys there is no 'hammer felt'.  This pretty much corresponds with the clacky keys - they have no felt anywhere - it appears to have worn off the bottom of the hammers or never was there!  Was this they way things were built in '75.? Anyway, going forward, should I remove all the felt from the hammers and apply felt to the key pedestals? Or what? Does anyone sell stick-on felt for the hammers? I've not seen it.

I guess this is my introduction to the forum. I am the original owner of a late-1975 Stage with Super Satellite speakers.  I got it for my 14th birthday. Piano has rarely been touched for last 10-15 years and despite that, it still sounds pretty good.  I know it needs work. The most egregious thing is that a few keys have excessive clackiness. When I strike them, they rebound much more than the other keys around them.  The clackiness corresponds to the low hammers in the attached photo.  What's up? Why are they low? What do I need to adjust?
