The Fender Rhodes Electric Piano / My new baby

Yup, I'm familiar with the R28 mod but I'm not mechanically/electrically inclined.  It was easier to find an original pedal.

Also the new Retro-Sonic phaser (www.retro-sonic.com) has the specs of the original Phase 90, is more adjustable, has true bypass, but is impossible to find at this time until they make more of them.

Yeah, the MXR was a must-have.  Had to settle for a first-run block logo as the script logos were too damn expensive on eBay.  I tried to run a re-issue Phase 90 in the chain with the original, but the re-issue kept distorting something fierce.

Next thing to add will be a wah pedal of some sort and a Chorus pedal.

My cousin was working in a pawn shop in NC and one of his co-workers had this in his garage and wanted to get rid of it.

My cousin traded $100 and a Samick electric guitar worth *maybe* $75 for it.

The serial number is 45007.  If anyone has any idea what year it is from the serial number, I'd like to know.

It's a bit dusty inside, but for it's age it was still in tune, played like a dream, and had the legs and pedal.  Only thing it didn't have was the rear braces for the legs.

Cosmetically, the tolex is coming off on the top, but not on the piano itself.  The only other thing is the "T" is broken off from the "EightyEight"  logo.  I'm lucky to have a cousin who knows a good find when he sees one.

I played it this past weekend on 2 gigs.  I ran it through a Speakeasy Vintage Music StageBox preamp and then into an original block logo MXR Phase 90 before feeding it into my Barbetta Sona 31c amp.  Killer sound!

Give me a few weeks and I'll have some pics of my new toy.

My cousin has a groove rock band in NC (he plays guitar and sings) and works in a pawnshop in his spare time between gigs.

He calls me and says that he ended up getting a near-mint (year unknown) Rhodes Mark I Stage 88 complete with legs, crossbraces, and pedal in trade for $100 and a Samick electric guitar.  He said that it's still in tune, as well.

This is after sitting for many years in storage in a guy's garage.

I can't WAIT to get my hands on that bad boy.
