Hi guys, I need some help.

I want to record my rhodes onto my computer in the most basic way (on the cheap). I explained to one of the service assistants at my local music store that I wanted to record from the lineout on my amp. On the advice from of the assistant, I purchase a M-Audio Fast Track, and he suggested to plug it in as follows:

AMP -> Lineout -> Balance lead -> M-Audio Fastrack -> Computer

I did this, and my computer started restarting itself (I'm guessing it was probably damaging it somehow).

How can I properly record this, and what equipment do I really need to do this properly? I don't want to mic up the amp because quite frankly it's cheap and horrible sounding (but sounds pretty good though headphones on the lineout hence the desire to do it this way).

The amp is a Line-6 Spider.

I have the same problem on my Mark V, but on the very bottom 'E' (first note).

You hit it and it makes a 'twang' sound, the tine seems to vibrate violently from side to side. When you have it hooked up to the amp it is a very muffled, short sounding note compared to the others.

It is probably really easy to fix but I'm not sure if I need a new tine or need to adjust / tighten it somehow.

Hi guys,

I'm trying to practice learning rhodes licks from ear (I'm not very good, but I'm getting there). I was wondering if someone could help me out with a couple of seconds worth of chords in the following video:

I have 3:05 to to 3:10 worked out but I can't figure out that next small section of chords and bass notes up to 3:14 because it goes to quickly for me.

(The riff is an interpretation of the very intro of Michael McDonalds - I Keep Forgettin, but with cooler voicings in my opinion)

Anyone know of any artists or albums that used the Mark V?

I only know of Chick Corea and his Elektric Band of the mid 80's - early 90's.

I'd expect it would have featured on a few of those rare mid to late 80's Japanese fusion albums?

My Mark V finally arrived. I'm quite new to rhodes (and amplification in general) so I would appreciate any help here.

I have the thing plugged into a tested and working Line6 Spider II 30w - http://line6.com/spiderii/30.html I'm borrowing this from a friend until I can afford something more suitable.

Every time I press a key I get that rich rhodes sound but there is a static sound in the background - the breakdown would be 85% sound 15% static. The static doesn't interfer with the sound signal, it's just there in the background.

Is this likely to be because it's a cheap amp that can't handle the frequency? Or a issue with the rhodes? I'm wondering if something has become loose because it has traveled a long way. The very bottom key seems to be softer than the rest too.

With a Mark V arriving very shortly, I'm wondering if someone has been making replica hammers as I understand the originals are very hard to come by. I believe there was some talk of it on these boards a while back, not sure if the situation has changed?

Oh, and does anyone have a link for the original manual for the Mark V? Did it get lost when fenderrhodes.com got shut down?

Not really fussed about what model / year...would be leaning more towards the Mark 2 but I realize choice is not always an option given how rare they are in Australia.

Looking for something in good working condition.

Sadly missed out on a near mint MKV that went for 3k a little while ago in Melbourne through ebay
