The Wurlitzer Electric Piano / Wurli 200A
April 11, 2009, 02:55:53 PM
Just wondering if anyone else has this problem.

There's a vibrational buzz from the plastic frame that is driving me flippin crazy. When I press on the middle of the front panel, directly to the left of the Wurlitzer "coat of arms" the buzz goes away. Without being able to grow a third arm to press there while I play, I am at a loss...

Any thoughts??

Thanks!

Does anyone know where I can find schematics on this puppy? I have the user's manual, but it doesn't have very much in the way of circuit layouts.

Thanks!

Hey there,

I'm going to replace the felts on the keys the hug the guide pins.  Does anyone have any tips or pointers on how to go about doing this?  Such as how to remove existing felts without damaging the keys and how to attach the new felts...

Anyone ever tried one of these things?

I have a chance to get one for free! I can't wait to hear how it sounds.

Has anyone tried the Akai P1 Intelliphase phaser pedal? I have a change to pick one up and would be interested in seeing how well they work with a Rhodes.

Preamps, Modifications & Upgrades / Preamp Mod?
April 11, 2007, 10:09:03 AM
I recently bought a 1974 suitcase. It was made in the 23rd week. The serial number sticker says Rhodes on it, and so does the suitcase amp.  I was not aware of them making the Fender/Rhodes switch in late 74, I thought it was 75-76 that they did the switch over...

anywho... the preamp has a tube attached to it. Is this normal?

Thanks!
#17
I'm leaving my suitcase on for a little while to test the amp and how it holds up.  Occasionally I here some minor snaps and crackles.

Is this normal or a symptom of something?

Is it common to have a Fender Rhodes MK1 piano with a Rhodes amp?

Has anyone had experiences with the Sennheiser e906 or the e609?

I'm thinking about getting a mic to use for mostly live sound, does anyone have an suggestions other than the Shure SM57? Or is that the best choice?

Thanks!

The Fender Rhodes Electric Piano / Is this normal?
March 04, 2007, 03:20:37 PM
I recently got my hands on a Stage 88. It's my first time having an 88, so forgive me if this seems like a stupid question.

Is this wiring scheme normal for an 88? None of my other 73's have these extra wires...

Is there a difference between the standard Dyno-My-Piano preamp and the Dyno "Pro Piano" Preamp?

Thanks!

Thanks

Hey Guys,

I have an mk1 suitcase 73.  On of the power amps produces a loud contant hum when plugged into either speaker set. I recently disected the speaker bottom and took out the power amps to see what was goin' on in there.

Something blew up...

Take a look at these two pics.  I am very new to electronics and can not identify each little part yet. Does anyone know what it is that blew up? A resistor perhaps? Does the big thing next to it appear to be a paper weight now?

Thanks! Any info will help!

The Wurlitzer Electric Piano / Wurlitzer
August 21, 2006, 05:12:01 PM
I just got a Wurlitzer 200 for free!  It's in great working condition expect the fact that the internal speakers are not working.

The power turns on and sometimes I can hear a quiet fuzz come through the speakers when I hit the keys harder then normal.

I've tried plugging in headphones into the Phones jack and that does not work either.

Anyone have any suggestions??

Thanks!
Matt

I have a 1974 Mk1 Suitcase 73 which has just recently decided to make a very loud constant humming noise when I turn it on.  This is the first time it has ever done this and I am a little worried that I might have to replace the amp.  It might only be one channel though, I read a couple posts about the vibrato sounding more volume going up and down rather than the pin pong effect, which it started doing at the same time.

Anyone have any ideas on why it's doing this?

Thanks!

I probably sound like a moron, but...
I have a 1974 Mk1 suitcase 73 and I would like to run a couple pedals with it.  I have tried it in the past, but when I do it cancels out the amp and speakers.  I have been running out of the two 1/4" jacks in front.  Is there a way to do it without having this happen?

Thanks!

Hi, I have '74 suitcase 73 with a speaker that is starting to die.  It fuzzes with every note.  Does anyone have a good recommendation as a replacement speaker?

Thanks!

Hey all,

I just got my 1974 73Suitcase shipped from Denver Colorado to Portland Maine using Keyboard Carriage.  They did a FANTASTIC job of shipping it.  Absolutley no scuff marks, no damage, prompt service, helpful, friendly staff.  If you are ever thinking about how you are going to ship a Rhodes, USE THESE GUYS!  You'll be happy you did.

You can sit back, relax and have peace of mind when using Keyboard Carriage.

I recently got my hands on a Mark I 73 Stage model.  On the 45th and 53rd tonebar, there is a buzzinf/rattling vibration when I use those keys.  I believe the 53rd tonebar is rattle because it is rubbing against the harp bracket.  not sure though.  I don't have kind of clue as to why the 45th tone bar is making any noise.  Can anyone help?

Thanks
Matt
