For Sale / Anyone interested in a 215v with the visualizer?
« on: March 11, 2019, 07:56:14 PM »
Hey all! I've got a 215v and I have the chance to grab a visualizer for it tomorrow. I was planning on selling my 215v without the visualizer but if any collectors out there want to jump on this shoot me a PM. I'll probably pass on getting the visualizer if no one reaches out since it won't really help me resale this thing in Nashville.

The Wurlitzer Electric Piano / Leveling a Harp
« on: December 11, 2018, 05:52:46 PM »
Hey all,

Long time reader/hobby refurb guy.

I'm working with some 1969 Wurlitzer student models and the harps have not been shimmed and I'm trying to get the harp  un-tweaked. Any tips from you pro guys on how best to shim the harp and maximize ring time across the piano?

The Wurlitzer Electric Piano / Anyone got a hum shield for sale?
« on: November 24, 2017, 11:00:46 PM »
Looking to get ahold of a hum shield for a wurli. Anyone got any laying around?

Hi guys,

Currently re capping a wurli and a bit new to this. I'm using just some music as a sound source now through the amp and I'm noticing that as the volume is turned up, so does the frequency range of the amp. Almost like it's raising the freq on a low pass filter. Is this normal or should I anticipate this dissapearing as I continue to recap the board?

It's a 1969 revision 206 amp btw

The Fender Rhodes Electric Piano / Rhodes Bass repair
« on: March 13, 2017, 10:05:21 PM »
Hi guys!

Refurbishing a Rhodes Piano Bass for the first time. I have experience refurbishing some rhodes and Wurlitzer's but wondering if theres anything I need to know for the bass.

First: Damper felts and Grommets/screws, do they just follow the same as a typical Rhodes? I need to replace all of them on this particular one, its pretty beat.

Cleaning pickups, these things are a bit corroded, but they do all work. How do you typically clean these?

The Wurlitzer Electric Piano / Wurlitzer 206a Amp Trouble
« on: January 23, 2017, 06:08:24 PM »
So I purchased a 206a and just finished chopping it and modifying the speaker wiring to let me disconnect and reconnect the base.

Here's what I did. I took the red and black wire that were wired into the speaker switcher, snipped them before that switch and wired them straight to the speakers by means of a 1/4 jack installed into the case and a 1/4 cable to the speakers. I turned it on and it was working for a solid 10 seconds and then I saw a small spark around the amp to volume switch output on the PCB and the volume dropped/amp distorted.

I'm hoping someone can let me know if its just a blown cap or if I did something horrendously wrong by bypassing that switch.

Here's the sound its currently making:

Thanks guys
