The Wurlitzer Electric Piano / Price of 200A When New?
« on: December 14, 2018, 03:58:06 PM »

I received my first Wurly 200A during the Fall of 1977 while I was a freshman in high school. I think I know what my dad paid for it, but does anyone know for sure what these instruments cost when new? Any historical price lists out there? I'd love to know what they sold for new and then use an inflation calculator to see what it would cost in today's dollars. Thanks!

The Wurlitzer Electric Piano / More Questions on Dating a 200A
« on: December 14, 2018, 06:34:23 AM »
Hello folks--

Forgive me if this information is already readily available, for if it is, I've not been able to find it. I am trying to date the year of my Wurlitzer 200A, serial number 123XXXL.  So I get that the "L" stands for assembly at the Logan, Utah plant, but does the fact that the first number is a "1" mean that the piano was made in 1981? Or does that particular date code only apply to pianos made earlier? Does anyone know when Wurlitzer started using the logo on the back of the piano? (Which mine does not have, for which I'm grateful, because it looks gaudy to me.)

Last thing, I got my first Wurly brand new in the Fall of 1977 during my freshmen year of high school. Does anyone know what they listed for back then? I think I remember what my dad paid, but I'm not 100%.

Thanks, everybody!
