I think it's a valid question.

How do you go about cleaning felts to keep the originals?
Mine are pretty worn down

My old man was musician in the 70s, 80s and 90s.
And now I'm a musician. And I'm BAD too.
So I'm opening a studio here in my hometown and I thought

Now I've been doing a lot of research, and this board in particular helped steer me in the direction of keeping it mostly original. That idea... I'm in love with. So I'm happy I started reading before writing.

For starters. I did buy 6 yards of tolex. -I'm not entirely sure I like the idea of wrapping the whole thing like new with anything but the original tolex now, but that's something I can tolerate putting off u til I get to the inside.

Here are my 2 real problems:
1.i accidentally ripped off the side panel while carrying it a couple years ago. So I want to take measurements and get some wood from Home Depot to cut into into place! Because right now... the whole side part is missing. Does this sound doable? And I supposed to glue it? Or should I drill it. Does anyone know where I can get a side piece instead of cutting my own???

And 2. I'm afraid to take the whole thing apart, because of this very thin and fragile looking wire that's drilled into the back left corner. Right near the 4 pin cable. I fear that if I snap this cable, I won't know how to fix it. So the electrical part is something That's putting off my effort.

The output works.. there's definitely a good signal coming out. So I DEFINITELY don't want to mess it up by ripping the whole thing apart like i know what I'm doing.

Is there anyone that can help me? Is there anyone in the Boston area who's really good at these sort of things? I'd die for pro advice right now.
