I would recommend a Fender rhodes, to get that phat sound...

Bjammers, Ithink that the short comings of the suitcase bottoms frequency range is actually the good thing about it. Im not to keen on the bell like tone in the midrange and bass. To me the real rhodes sound  is the suitcase sound, and i have had both...

...of course im biased :wink:

Thanx , Im thinking about polishing/rechroming the metal parts, and re tolex it. Allso the glitter-gray stuff is a bit brownish in places as you can see...

This is my third Rhodes, I Drove 2400 miles to get from a little town in NJ. Paid 1750 for it, she is pretty perfect (i Think).

I have had 2 MK1, stage a 73 and a 88, and i now have a 1974 suitcase 88 and to me there is no comparison. The suitcase has so much more more bite and body to it. Plus the wooden tips on the older model makes the feel alot better!

I just explained to him that it wasnt worth 2600...

got the piano, bargained it down 850 dollars, I love it. It looks good as the pics show, but the internals are even better. The tips show minimal wear and it sounds awsome. The only disapointment is that it doesnt have the stereo-effect that i love. Didnt know these years didnt have that....

I thought everyone preffered the mk. v. I to prefer the Phat "Herbie suitcase sound" To the Cleaner brighter "80s Corea-mk. V sound".

Is this a Normal price for a suitcase 88?
