Small chance I saw you there, but my 1974 88 has also been restored by Rob Coops a couple of weeks ago. Too bad i'm too far from Amsterdam to pick it up whenever I want (which is very hard, because it is finished for a few days already...) ...  it cost me about 650 euro's so i think my Rhodes will play like a dream now  :D

That is exactly what I asked myself after I bought the Rhodes.

It might be that in some production years those caps weren't even added to the legs. But in that case they will scratch on wooden floors...

So after I saw this picture I thought my Rhodes would have lost them somewhere in the past..

Thanks for your replies. Does anyone know a place in Europe where they will have them (to lower the postage costs)?

I've also emailed EP-service in Holland but they're on vacation  :P . However, i will wait for them to email me back.

This may look like an silly topic, but i cannot find a place to buy the rubber feet i'm missing. I mean those from the front legs, not those with a screw (like those from the pedal).

Here's a picture of what it should look like:

Does anyone know where to find them? I've searched on majorkey and the other pages mentioned on this side, but without succes.

Thanks in advance.

I'm glad to hear I've made someone very happy

But you're right, it is a nice band and they all play very good. However I'm not blown away bij McCann's playing.

I must say I haven't heard of any mark 1 suitcases made with a flat top... but well, i'm not the expert here

Yesterday some new footage of Les McCann was added on YouTube.

I've never heard of him, but it are high quality recordings
so you should check them out.

Very nice Rhodes sound from a Mark 1 suitcase with a flat top...:   *CLICK*

I don't think you can fix this all cheap.

Buying / Is this Fender Rhodes worth it?
« on: May 06, 2007, 05:35:35 AM »
Well, you can see some rust there. So I think you can find a cheaper one in the US, even one in a better condition. However, in Europe it would have been a bargain.

Hello all,
I've seen a Fender Rhodes with the serialnumber: 2941

Is this one of those 1974-models? In this case that would mean it is produced on:
- week 29
- year 1974
- monday (1)

Is this correct?
thanks!

I wouldn't travel that far for a modification either. I'm lucky Rob lives about 100 miles away from me :D

Of course, you can just call him (he likes phone more than email) and he will help you. His telephone number is on his website, but I GUESS your dutch isn't very well, so you may try to contact him in English. That is the quickest solution, and you will get the right answer for sure!

The Fender Rhodes Electric Piano / Son of a gun!!
« on: January 30, 2007, 12:05:21 PM »
That wasn't rude at all, gunnar. I was thinking te same. It is more a statement than a question. But that's not a problem.

But Eddie Bieber, next time you give away Rhodeses for free: pick me!  :P

If I was you I'd put it on eBay, because you will get much more for it that way. You'll get even more if you are willing to ship it to other counrty's. I saw Suitcases being sold for $800 on craigslist. On eBay in Europe prices of $2500 for a suitcase in normal condition are really no exception!!!

Here's a couple of clips of me learning to improvise over the changes of the song "Perdido". The Jazz thing is still kinda new for me, but fun! My rig is a 1980 Mark II Stage Piano going into a 1977 Fender Twin (clean channel). I used a Shure SM57 mic (pointed between the center and the edge of the speaker, close to the grill) going into my Digidesign 001 to record it (no effects or EQ). There's a couple a times where it clips a little bit (input level set a little too hot on the 001). Oh well, just for fun anyway....

Hey BJT3, does your mark II have plastic keys? it sounds very clean/bell-ish to me. Might be the way of recording either, of course.

I'm just asking, while i'm looking for a rhodes. Checking different sounds of the mk1 and mk2.  :P

The Fender Rhodes Electric Piano / Mark II '81 with wooden keys?
« on: December 05, 2006, 07:04:59 AM »
I'm looking for a rhodes for 3 months now, one in a good condition, but whenever i find one, the biddings will go to something like 1000 euro's. Even when the tolex is damaged.
Now I found this one, and it looks very good. I guess the supply and demand-thing does the trick again because the prices in the USA are much, much lower. Also eBay germany has got high prices ( i live in holland)

do you know any other place/site i can search for a rhodes?

Hello All,

I can buy a Rhodes Mark II from 1981 with wooden keys.
Now my question is:
Do they even exist or does the seller got it wrong and do they have plastic keys?

I hope you can help me
