It will probably be more than the new rhodes due to the complex action,.....12 grand I'd say 😪
#2
wood doesnt change an electric guitars sound either
#3
i think vintage vibe has some case tops for sale!
#4

i found a great tuner with a free 2 week trial! not sure how much it is to buy, but 2 weeks hass been enough for me to tune the rhodes!!!!!!

http://www.katsurashareware.com/strobe/strobe.html
#6
yes, there are maybe 4 or 5 that need shimming up a bit....
#7
but if the action feels great, why spend all that time to change it??
#8
im gonna come back to it in a few days...... on another topic, would it be ok to tune the rhodes to my nord by ear or do i need a tuner???
#9
i got the meter today, and i tried using it but haven't got the patience! i took out all of the shims and just placed all they keys onto the felt and the action is fast and light, really even and dynamic. next thing is to re-drill the harp for optimum strike line!!!
#10
nice one! ill order it!
#11
hi steveo, it hasnt been serviced in a while, the action is awful, and it could do with voicing/tuning. ive just rebuilt my rhodes, and i really dont want to tackle the wurly!
#12
is there a trick to mesure the height? ive tried with a ruler, but with the wood infront on the keys being slanted, its hard to keep the ruler straight.........
#14
hi mike, i went for a samson active pa cab. its great for the nord, needs a mixer infront of it but has loads of power (200 watt) i highley recomend it.
http://www.samsontech.com/samson/products/pa-cabinets/auro/aurod210/

payed £170 at pmt music, salford, manchester, and did a price match with http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samson-SAROD210A-Lightweight-Powered-Loudspeaker/dp/B00A1ALYPE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1402408610&sr=8-1&keywords=Auro+D210
as it was about £220 at pmt!

anyone know one?
#18
hi all, im after a portable amp to use with the nord. i dont drive so it has to be portable for busses and trains. i've tried an AER acoustic amp which was perfect, but its way out of my budget (£100/$165). im looking at either;

or
http://www.thomann.de/gb/the_tamp_pa4080kb.htm

i normally use a 100w valve amp, but need something for smaller gigs. any advise would be appriciated!

For Sale / Re: Affordable Vintage Vibe Tine Piano
August 20, 2013, 06:09:55 PM
i'd buy a 73 model for use in the uk , and i'm sure dan would. we all understand and respect all the work you have put into this project. will a reed piano ever happen???
#32
it looks ok, you just need to put the hammers back, they should clip back in. you need to level the keys with paper pushings from vintage vibe, and maybe new hammer tips. wouldnt cost more then $200 to sort it out. you can take all the keys out and out them back in straight. the early mark ones are better as well.
#33
i tried it a few years ago, it was really good, but i wasn't blown away by it. its a bit to big for gigging, and as a home keyboard you could probably get a baby grand for less. try the nord piano, they sound great in stereo.....
#34
vv sell used ones for about $40, i bought one off ebay used for £80, i paid £450 for my Rhodes and when its complete i will have spent about £400 on it so £850 all together, definitely worth it tho when you can spend up to £1500 in the UK for one in good condition - at least i'm spreading out the cost!

hi, i am in need of a set of grommets with screws and washers, and a couple of hammertips. does anyone know of anywhere in the uk that i could get them????? i want to avoid buying from the usa. thanks
#38
it was super glue! its not the end of the world. ill try sanding it down, thanks
#39
hi, whilst gluing a 73 badge on, a few drops of glue ended up on the key caps. any idea how to remove them? thanks
#40
you could split the signal with a y cable and send them two a guitar amp and a bass amp. and eq out the other frequencies maybe, that would be a lot easier then splitting you harp.
