wana trade and ill give you some cash too?
#2
not true, you will need some sort of power amp

i have the most simple setup, but it works

73 key stage---> Maestro Phase Shifter--->Vintage Thomas Organ Cry Baby(the orig. Vox wah wah)--->Traynor mkIII 100watt 2x12 combo with a 2x12 ext. cab. sometimes i throw a Boss Demension C stereo chorus or Zakk Wylde distortion after the cry baby.

there is a mp3 of my maestro, each lick is with a different speed, slow, medium then fast. I am a drummer, so sorry for the crapy playin!

i bought a Maestro PS-1a yesterday, and i can honesty say that it sounds MUCH better then a phase 90/100 or a small stone. I have played with both (guitarist in my band owns both), and the maestro kicks their ass.

I use a vintage Traynor Mark 3 100 watt 2x12 combo with a marshall 2x12 cab, making it a 4x12. The Traynor has greenbacks in it, which have a thick middle, but not much lows, so the marshall helps out a lot!

hey

i picked up a PS-1A today while i was in Hollywood. It was a DECENT price, and it was in great condition. I LOVE the thing. It also sounds great on guitars and basses. If you through a Boss SD-1 infront of with the gain WAY down, but the output up, just to boost the voltage, the Maestro just sings!!!

Great effect!

hey

i have a 1977 73 key stage. It is in desperate need of some new hammer tips (they are still the orig!). What hammer tips should i get? I know speakeasy and major key sell them, but i have also seen people that have the wooden core tips. Should i just pick up the speakeasy set for $60?

thanks!

my 73 key stage does the same thing!

Quote from: "tnelson"I understand that there are musical styles that include high stage volumes from instrument amps, the special distortion tone colors of Marshall amps, etc., but why anyone would use a Rhodes for this instead of a Rhodes patch on a lighter keyboard, I don't understand. I think you'd lose any real ability to distinguish between the output of real vs. emulated once you run it through that kind of distortion and mix. Somebody please explain.

I dont gig with my MKI rhodes, im not that good at all. Im a drummer, but I do know that playing a modern day synth with a rhodes voice will never sound as good, feel as good or look as cool as playing a real rhodes! Their is soul to the real thing. Same thing with electric drums vs. Acoustic drums vs. Drum Machine

Quote from: "phantomdogmusic"I'm a huge fan of the Marshall sound too. I'm not sure how it would work with a Rhodes though? I've been using a Hotcake distortion pedal to distort the sound, and am now running through a JBL Eon P1. It's not a tube sound, but it is nice and loud! Let me know how the Marshall goes!

Cheers

im not gettin a marshall head anytime soon!

i still wana know what a marshall JMP or JCM800 half stack would sound like. I love marshall guitar tone and have a marshall 2x12 cab, so i might go that way
#16
i fixed the hole thing!

On the the higher key, the pedistal was un-glued, so i reglued it on the key

on the lower key, there was a little screw under the key
#17
the key i am worried about is the one on the right. Its resting position is shown in the pic.

How do i clean the pedistal felt?

i am new to rhodes!
#18
here are pix.

There are 2 keys that are screwed up.

On one key, the throw is a lot shorter than the others

On the other, the hammer hits the key

(You can see my DW kit in the background, im a drummer!)

i have had my rhodes for atleast a month now. Right now i am running it into a vintage Traynor MKIII 2x12 (100 watt twin copy) with a Marshall 1936 2x12 cab as an extn. cab.

I cant get the low end out of the Traynor. It gets that cruddy low-end that vintage combo's get. I am thinkin about building a Marshall JMP45 or JCM800 copy with a friend, and running that into the marshall 2x12 cab.

Has anyone used one of these? I know it is what JPJ used live on No Quarter. I am wondering what you all think about them...

I really want that No Quarter (song remains the same) sound. Im using a MKI 73 key
#22
Hey. I just got my rhodes. It was fine when I got it home, one of the high key hammers is resting on the wooden key. Also, another one of the hammers is higher than the rest and the throw of the key is much less then the rest. How do I go about fixing this? Can I do it or do i have to take it to a repair shop?

Hey guys.
Im a newbie. I am getting a 73 key stage Rhodes Mk I as soon as i find one for a good price off of ebay. anyway...

I am looking into amps for my rhodes. I know a lot of ppl like using bass amps. My bass player has an G+K 4x10 cab that he will let me use. How would it sound to pair that with a Ampeg SVT head? I know that is a lot of power, but i would also be able to have my bass player use that as a practice setup so he dosnt have to lug his Agular Pre/Power setup to my house everytime we have a band practice.

Would i get some decent tone out of that?
