I found the simple solution! It was ground loop issue => when I connect e.g. harp or any negative pole on Line 6 input/outputs to the ground (earth wire) the fuzz will disappear:)

In general, I think Fender Rhodes is a kind of electric guitar, so it should be working fine with Line 6 Guitar amp modeler! Of course, it is digital, but that´s another story:)

Hi guys,
I am running my Rhodes through LINE 6 Amplifi TT modelling amp, but getting fuzz/hum/noise with Volume knob over level 5. Is it normal or is there any solution for it? I also tried battery powered Line 6 Pod and it is better, until I am not close to Rhodes with it.

Please check my video, is it kind of interference from electricity? But why when over Volume 5 only?

Thanks for any advice

Thanks for advice,
I think the strike line and escapement are fine. The click is definitely not caused by the damper (I tried to block dumper by hand and the click was the same). Maybe I should try to buy new hammer tips to see if it will be better. It is definitely better with yellow instead of wooden but as you said, the sound could be more thunky...

Yes, I  have read these articles, but as you wrote, everything is about replacing soft tips by the harder ones.
But nobody replaced wooden ones by black or even yellow hammer tips. Why? Worse (too soft) sound? Durability? I don´t want to piss against the wind:)

But again, my biggest issue with wooden and black tips, is common annoying clapping acoustic noise (knocking, clipping) during playing (when the tip touches the tine).

Thanks for reply, but before I replace hammers (tips) from MIDs to HIGHs for test - Did anybody try to use white or yellow tips on last octaves for a longer time period? Durability, sound, etc...

Hi,
I am quite annoyed by strong acoustic noise (clicks) caused by white and wooden hammer tips (the last 2 octaves).
Plus it seems to me, that sound of these octaves is rather aggresive and louder than mids and lows tones sound.

So my idea is to buy yellow hammer tips (are softer, the same are on mid octaves) and replace the white and wooden hammertips by them.

What do you thing about this idea and sound impact (I like softer sound)? Is there anybody with similar setup? I tried to replace one hammer tip, but it is hard to decide based on one tone.

Thanks
Peter

Hi,

I have Rhodes Mark I (1976) and keys (mechanics inside) does usual tapping (clicking)  sound (especially the highest 2 octaves). When I play through headphones, this taping is noisy and I would like to isolate or lower this not to disturb my neighbors.

Is it possible somehow without changing the Rhodes sound?
Thanks

I would like to play classical Piano on Rhodes keyboard (it means to use Rhodes as Rhodes and Piano). Virtual instruments such as Pianoteq and TruePianos sounds fantastic. You can disagree, ok, it is personal, but I was asking mainly for technical solution. Some solutions have optical sensors, so it is not true, that it affects Rhodes keyboard action.

Bad? Do you have any reason for that except subjective feelings like no midi into classical Rhodes?:)

I see the main problem in price -> more than 1000EUR

Hi,
do you have experience with installing MIDI to Rhodes Mark I? I know it is possible, there are several solutions:

http://www.oceanbeach.com/ches/daves_gear/rhodes.html
http://www.midi9.com/
http://electric-piano-service.de/midi.html

I would like to buy its parts and install it myself, do you know about any other solutions? What is the price and performance?

Thanks for tips and help
Peter
