hi Guys
I've just purchase a Wurli 300 , the model made and only available in Germany .
It's based upon the 200 model including the vibrato but fit in a wooden cabinet very similar to the HOHNER Electra piano ( same wood and finition and same grill cloth).
the sound is amazing , deeper , due to the wooden cabinet and an extra speaker located in the bottom part of the case .

I've updated the page and post some more pics of the WURLI 300 ,
I did a mistake ,  this model  is based upon the 140 design and not the 200.
if someone here have got more information , please let us know .

I must say , I'm lucky because this one is in a very good condition ,
the action is perfect , sound amazing and cosmetic near mint ,
my favorite wurli actually

Nice pics of the 300. The Models 270 (Butterfly grand) and 300 are the 2 rarest Wurlitzers of all. I own a 270 but have never seen a real 300 because they were made for Europe as previously stated. It took me over 20 years to find a 270-I couldn't pass it up.Unfortunately,I have no idea how to post pics here.

The model 140 action was nearly identical to the 200's action, the only difference was where the key capstan was located. The amps were totally different,however.

I just looked at a larger pic of the 300-the one that shows the amp. That amp looks like the model 206 (not 206A) amp,just for the record. I believe the 200 (not 200A) amp was similar too. The 206A amp is more powerful than a 200A amp.

I didn't realize the model 300 was made in the early '70's, I as well as others assumed it was their last model since it has the highest model number and the 270 Butterfly grand was in the early '80's. So I assume now that the 270 was the last model made....

 Steve O you're absolutely right ,
 I'm wrong , after verification and taking more informations from a German guy , the 300 has been made in the early 80's , there's the same model
of ampliifer than the 206 , I was wrong because of bad  informations and regarding the date of the electronic componants , it seems that this piano has been serviced with old stock parts in the past .
So finally it seems that this model was the last one manufactured with the 270.
I've updated my web page about it .

 About the 270 I'll post some pics in a next future .

OK, that makes more sense to me-that's the way I had always heard it.Thanks for the update. You have a real gem there, don't ever sell it unless you have to!
About how  much does it weigh in pounds?

The 270 is really heavy-a royal pain to move and mine is on the second floor-that was fun...

about the weight I'm not sure but I think that's nearly equivalent to the 270 , when i need to move those 2 babies , I feel the same pain  with both :shock:

The 270 is the heaviest wurlitzer by far...

The 300 would be closer to a 206 or maybe even a little lighter like a 720 weight wise. The 270 is a BEAST-especially if there are stairs. There isn't much to grab onto, and the shape is awkward to handle. I will double check my weight specs (I have them for every wurlitzer) I think the 270 is close to if not more than 200 lbs.

the 270 is very heavy for sure , when I bought it from the us it was mentionned 180 pounds on the ups package .  :!:  not sure if that's absolutely right

 I estimate that the 300 is not less than 140 pouds

This 2007 thread has come back to haunt me, and I just had to set someone straight who was buying one.  Too much heresay, incorrect assumptions.

The 300 WAS made in the early 1970's, in a very small window of time.  Circa 1972-3.  It was the console version of the 201.  Both were made in the same German factory.  They are German variants of the 200 line with unique (Europe-compatible) electronics and speakers.

They are uncommon, but they are out there.

We can NOT assume the era of an instrument based on sequencing the model numbers, or even the suffix letters! If we did, the 726B would be the last Wurly EP made. (And it wasn't. It preceded the non-B 726 and was made in 1966.)

The last-introduced Wurly EP models were the 205(V), the 215(V), and the 200B. All around 1980, perhaps inched back to 1979? Don't quote me on 1979, check the table in the link below.  270 was 1976.

Sorry to be a grouch over a 13 year old thread.  But this sort of thinking still goes on among us over here. Also, I need coffee.
