Hi,

I was. wondering if anyone out there had any experience with a problem I'm currently having with the Yamaha PSR-38.

After planning on using it to also control my soft synths and my OP-1 (which does not send any velocity through MIDI) I was hoping to use this as a MIDI controller for just that reason.

The synth's manual specifically states that it transmits note and velocity data through MIDI (page 37). However, I cannot get the keyboard to transmit velocity; yet it will receive it. I've ran through a good amount of the MIDI settings trying to get it to send velocity and just haven't been able to make it happen.

My suspicion is that the MIDI implementation chart (page 49) is correct and this truly only sends an on or off signal (with the on "velocity" being 64 and the off "velocity" being 0).

If anyone has any information or solutions, I'm open to hearing them. Thank you.
