Ok guys...... Ive been watching this board on and off for the past couple of months. Never posted anything, just used the site for reference and such. Now im not trying to advertise at all, just trying to help some people find parts and such to help fix their pianos.
I work for a company called Music Parts Guru, im not the owner. Simply a guitar tech and phone guy..... and handyman if you will..... People around here lack all knowledge of fixing anything haha. We are a very small company. Me, the shipper(Geoff) and the two owners(Tom and Jazz). The company used to be under a differnt name and ownership in the 70-90's. It was smart parts, Fender ONLY parts distributers at the time(far before wdmusic, ce distribution, parts is part, and allparts). This company closed down because it was also a very small company that did a tremendous amount of work, as far as i know from the storys ive heard there was only 3 or 4 people aswell. One of the main people in the company Rick passed away very abruptly and left the company hanging. The owner in return shut off everything and put all of the parts into storage. About 3 years ago Tom aquired these parts and started selling Fenders Parts again on a very small scale out of his house.
Since then we havent even gotten close to the status that smart parts was at but we did discover in that warehouse of stuff TONNNNNSSS  of brand new, new old stock fender rhodes parts from stage, suitcase, ek-10, to Chroma parts. Weve been doing tons of ebay sales with this stuff but ontop of that we have also stated taking in bastardized and "no hope for" Rhodes pianos and either fixing them or stripping them and refurbishing the parts for resale. Were trying to get our name out there and create a small nich for ourselves in the Rhodes Community. Maybe you guys can help us do that?
Up until now we only sell actual Rhodes parts, nothing remanufactored like Other companys tines and such. We have noticed the remanufactored tines sound terribal if you hadent noticed before we did. We are in the process of trying to make right ones. Just like the originals. Tom also had a very personal relationship with Harold Jr back in the day. Since then they had lost contact and to be quite honest i dont know what happened to him. But they had previously gone through the trials of remaking them and failed.(this is where the formula for the current remade tines came from, just never improved to function correctly) So we have a very large advantage at this point of what not to do.
We are also almost completely done with remanufactoring the tone bar grommets to function, fit, and sound exactly like the ones that came in the pianos.
Also just so you guys can check out some of our stuff, out site is not functioning yet but our ebay sellers name is MusicPartsGuru out of illinois. I belive this url should work to get you to our sellers page http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ25QQsassZmusicpartsguru
Right now we have in house a beat up Pre-65 32-Key Bass piano with quite a few good working parts including the first generation tines and tonebar assemblys.
If anyone has any questions feel free to message me, they goto my personal email not my work.
Thanks for listening!

I was wondering what happened to Smart Parts...if you guys hadn't sold me the Service Manual 10 years ago, the Super Site probably wouldn't have been born!!!

Haha...... noooo waaaay. That had to be the longest shot ever. Small world huh? Well Rick, the guy that you probably delt with, the sales guy had past away due to a heart attack. The original owner wasnt exactly passionate about the company... more or less the money. So that was just enough for him to close it down. Now the other main player in the company(the brains behind it) Tom still had his heart in the music buisness. After lots of requests he finnally reopened in his house. And that is the story of how Music Parts Guru came from Smart Parts. Haha. I hope to hear back from you.
