sustain pedal

I bought my mark 1 stage piano almost a year ago now without a sustain pedal or rod and haven't gotten around to getting either yet.  I have looked around a little bit, but i'm not sure on what to get.  I was wondering if anyone could help.

I could get both from major key new for $125, and i understand these are the vintage ones that came with the rhodes but in new stock condition. I could also get both from speakeasy vintage music online for $90, but these are non-original aftermarket products that i really have any experience with.  I could also try to find a truly vintage sustain pedal and rod, but i might have some trouble with that and the price is up in the air.

If anyone has any experience with any one of the above examples, i'd be happy to get some feedback, or if anyone has any alternate choices i'd love to hear them too. thanks.

I have yet to recieve my Rhodes Mark I Stage Piano...it's waiting for me to pick up, but I know it doesn't come with a sustain pedal. I had the idea of possibly building a sustain pedal, but I'm not sure if it's possible. Does anyone who has a Rhodes know if you could do such a thing easily? I know Speakeasy does it, but I also know they charge a LOT of money for some spare parts in my opinion.

i built a sustain rod by pulling the top and bottum off an old music stand. dunno bout the pedal though.

Might as well revive a dead topic - I'm bored.  

Speakeasy also sell an 'ugly parts' pedal (at least they used to) - a no frills stage pedal. If you wanted to make one yourself, take a look how they did it (or just buy one). If you have access to basic cutting and welding equipment, you could easily knock one up using square tubing for the 'see-saw' and some sheet metal for the base and plates to hold a pivot pin. Their new copies of the original pedal look pretty good though.
