Hi, this is my first post here, and I'm having a rather serious problem.  The dampers on my Stage 73 are stuck about halfway down so all of the notes ring out indefinitely, even when I take the sustain pedal off of the instrument.  Can anybody tell me how to fix this?  The rhodes is my main instrument, and I'm sort of lost without it.

Thanks a lot,
-Bill

I just had the same problem with my suitcase 73.  Turns out the plastic ring through which the sustain rod slides into the body of the keyboard had cracked into pieces.  The broken ring was lodged up and was keeping the dampers depressed.  I removed the ring with needle nose pliers, and the dampers rose to their relaxed position.  The root cause was missing positioning feet on the bottem of the keyboard chassis.  Misallignment was causing the sustain rod to strike the plastic ring inappropriately.  Hope this may help you.
