Finding any that aren't reproductions are absolutely impossible.  They fall in the category of lost pens and socks that are never discovered again.  Besides, they crack down the middle over the screwhole and often are discarded when broken.  I've NEVER seen a set available or separate from a preamp.  Your best bet is to buy a preamp with knobs and sell one without after to recoup money.  :(

Suitable substitutes arent easy to find either I assume. I went to Conrad this day and they had none - I repeat none - doulbe stack knobs avaiable. That' s sad.
I will try some guitar shops.
Buying one with knobs doesnt make sense to me as I might have paid to much for my knobless preamp and I dont want to spent more money on that. before that I will just dump the original design with these stacked pots and replace them with regular ones. I will have to design a new faceplate anyway.

Thanks for your input, bjammerz

mmh, yes, some one might be worth a try, espescially the ebay link.
but most of the other links dont give any details away (like measurements etc.)
But first of all I will visit some local guitar and bass repair shops.
Thanks

allright, I found 2 producer for concentric knobs here in Germany: MEC and Goeldo
their products are all avaiable via thomann cyperstore

the pots have (all measurements round about and in mm):
axis diameter: bottom: 6mm/ top: 4mm
shaft length: bottom: 5mm/ top: 12,5mm

I have the specs for the Goeldo knobs, but unfortunately not all.
axis diameter: bottom: 8mm/ top: 6mm
knob diameter: bottom: 25mm/ Top: 19mm
finish: chrome
prize: 9 euro/ 11 US dollars (25.11.06 by XE.com.ucc)

http://www.thomann.de/de/goeldo_tandem_potiknopf_chrom.htm

the MEC is available in gold, chrome and black finish, unfortunately I have no specs at all. I will drop off a message to the manufacturer if I am not able to find these knobs in town (as I am supposed to due to their homepage's info).

prize: 3,95 euro/ 5 US dollars (25.11.06 by XE.com.ucc)

there is a 4th one (in chrome) but I didnt find out how they differ:

P.S. replace /de/ with /gb/ in the links for english description
good night

Hey Mark ll

I forgot... The knobs I got for my pre. The were a bit to big for the pot meter, so the guy gave me some weird stuff. It's like a straw made out of rubber. I put it on the potmeter a where the knob is supposed to go and heated it up with a lighter. That made it a bit wider so that the knob would fit more tightly...!

does it make any sense!?

yep, it does, daniel.
that what you have to do with goeldo knobs aswell. the shaft is smaller than the knobs inner diameter. cut shrink hose or something similiar to the right length in order to gain the size of the pot's shaft.

so, I just went to Amptown in Hamburg and they got the MEC knobs. they are regular knobs fo warwick bases. the inner diameters of bothknobs are too small. You would have to drill/ bore the holes to make it fit.
the other measurements were in tolerable specs, so i think with a little bit of labour you would make them work.

I didnt buy anything as I have to design the faceplate first.
but I will buy both knobs at thomann's as they have a nice money back garantee so that I can send back the knobs which I dont use.

that's it for a while.

update:
stumbled into this one:

lower right corner, grooved style stacked knobs.

in some way ugly, but useable, I think.

Update:

OK. after some months I got the GOELDO knobs from Thomann. unfortunatly they had a problem in supply that's why it took so long.
But they fit perfect and look gorgeous. unfortunatly I dont own a digi-camera, not even a foto cell phone but as soon as my work is finished (building the preamp into my Mark II) I will provide some picture, I promise.

I'm sorry I didn't see this posting a lot sooner. If anyone is interested, I have some original concentric knobs that will fit a Mark I suitcase.I can sell them without the stereo tremelo unit if the price is right. The volume control was missing the smaller outer knob, but a long time ago I added a small red knob in it's place and it's held up fine. the other 4 knobs are all original.

Quote from: "Mark II"I will provide some picture, I promise.

there you go.

knobs from left to right:
volume: MEC Metal 1 C
EQ: GOELDO double knob for concentric pots
speed/intensity: GOELDO double knob for concentric pots

as you can see I did a modification. I drilled some holes and installed 2  LED indicating the vibrato and 2 switches. one switch is for varying the speed aswell (actually halving the speed), the other switches from stereo panning to mono tremolo.

Now, I will have to design a faceplate to fit into my Mark II namerail.

cheers
