Removing pedestal felts

Hey,
I've read in the sevice manual that you're supposed to use silicon spray to saturate your key felts, thus loosening the adhesive, and then remove them from your hammers.
Do you use the same method to remove the felts if they are on your key pedestal? I've tried this method on a couple keys and it doesn't seem to work very well. I'm left with quite a bit of felt still on the pedestal.  Is there a better way?
I suppose I could just use a dremel and sand the remaining felt off, but I'm not keen on that idea.
Thanks!

Nevermind, I just figured it out.
I'm using an iron, upside down, WITHOUT STEAM
Hold your felts on the iron for about 20 seconds each and the glue gets soft and you can just pull the felt off.
Any thoughts?

My key pedestals look fine, there's no discoloration of the wood or anything
The only trick I can suggest is be patient when you're heating them up.
About 25 seconds will be perfect. OR it was perfect for mine at least.

Holy crap dude...

The iron idea works GREAT!!

I already cut myself twice on the damn exacto knife and decided to try our idea out.  I can't believe it, you're a genius!
