Does this seam a little ridiculous or more of a collectors thing or i guess all the cosmetics would be perfect too. Let me know what you guys think.

Yes it's been listed for about a year now on and off, I think it is a miracle that he still has a mark V in the box new, but not worth $12,000 US.  It's like saying you have a 78 Ford Pinto Wagon with 500 miles on it.  No one's going to pay $12,000, though it's amazing.  It's probably worth $7,000 to a collector who doesn't want to play it, or to an electric piano museum if one exists.

Yea 12G does seem a little far stretched.. Especially now that there is a NEW rhodes. Half of the novelty is that it is NEW and up until now, there was never ever going to be a new Rhodes....

I think they are being greedy, but if I owned it, I'd probably try and rip someone off too. Haha

Perhaps RhodesPiano will buy this "new" Rhodes to use the internal for one brand new Mk 7.

Yes with a mechanic that was never used or played before.  :D

I think this is interesting for professionals like Corea, Hanc**k or other. People who have the money for things like that and the possibilities to make more money with.

You mean if they get bored with their MIDI Mark Vs?

If you're interested in making money, you could always get a Triton and print up some business cards that say "Producer" next to your name.

It's a museum piece.  Almost any other Rhodes can be restored to a condition that's as good or better than one new in a box.  Still though, I would buy it just for that "New Rhodes" smell.   :D

although it would have less of the oxidized smell all the beauties have, it's certainly not an air tight sealed packaging.  Who knows, it could have been a never opened MarkV that sat outside in a moist garage and everything's rusted internally.
