Great classic Rhodes (and B-3) playing

Hey, I was browsing and didn't see many posts in this section, so I thought I'd add a little.

I've "discovered" an old under-rated keys player who most of you have probably known about. I hadn't, so I thought I'd share. I've been on a quest to find great classic progressive rock/jazz fusion artists, especially Rhodes and organ (B-3) players, and have had little luck. Such a shame pop culture has forgotten about possibly the best balance of intellectual, yet accessible and easily enjoyable music.

Anyway, I stumbled upon 'Brian Auger & the Oblivion Express' on a streaming radio station and immidiately ordered two discs (pretty hard to find!).

I heard "Happiness is just around the corner", off of their album- 'Closer to it'. It has killer Rhodes playing within a smokin' progressive rock/ acid jazz fusion tune. The same goes for pretty much everything else from the Oblivion Express in this period (early to mid-seventies). Tunes also include some steller B-3 and early Synth work. I am totally hooked.

Check out the albums- 'Closer to it'
                                'Straight Ahead'
& 'Brian Auger & the Oblivion Express' (self titled)

...you'll love it!

Hopefully this will help other "youngsters" like me who unfortunately missed an amazing period in music, and might be searching for some "fresh vintage" grooves with an emphasis on keys!

Any more suggestions from others about this genre would be great. I can't get enough!
