So this is probably a strange question, but since I'm getting a suitcase for my livingroom, I was wondering what you guys sit on? (while playing that is)
Any unorthodox ideas?
Maybe some (decent  ) pics of your sitting action?

I'm also in the drum throne camp; mine's a dw and actually cost me quite a bit, but it looks about as new as the day I got it, despite tours and getting knocked over, etc etc.

I like the drum thrones as well. The Rhodes sets up a little bit high and its nice with the drum throne because you can adjust the height... and they come apart nice for traveling.

I've got the drum throne too.  It's almost the same style as Mark II's Dixon, except the seat is contoured to the shape of your ass (I guess they call it the "saddle" style):

I'm playing on this kind of seat...

Allmost the same, but 30 years older...as i'm playing other instruments, i'm happy that i can "surf" from the left to the right of the bench !

i played once on a drummer seat...never again. Comfortable, but i would have to mount some caster to use it correctly !

haven't Rhodes or Fender ever made an official Rhodes chair/bench?

yes, they promoted them in the Sattelite-Speaker Catalog.

I never understood a backrest on a piano seat myself.

My throne is a DW (I just bought it recently after using a Tama throne for 15 years). I was surprised how similar it looks to Mark II's.

The double locking clamp is really nice. The Tama got retired because its clamp was shot and I kept inching downward.

what does yours say: made in TAIWAN ?

mine does.

LOVE your original SMILE LP cover..... I wish Brian used that artwork in '04...

I use padded piano benches,I never like drum type stools for keyboards, but have one for my drums of course.

thanx pianotuner, I'm a huge Brian Wilson fan, and Smile is a magical project for me (and a great concept and lots of legendary stories of course).
The original art work is so much beter than the new version... but then again, so are the original recordings.. Still a great album.

Brian never did use much of the Rhodes I guess.... though it would suit his chords and melodies very well I think.
