looks like a suitcase namerail (one unused hole between accessory jacks and first input labeled knob, the hole for the 4 pin socket ?) with stage sticker and some kind of a split mod.

No, it looks like a 1974 stage namerail that someone modified. The black knob is in the original 1/4" output jack hole, and the other 2  1/4" jacks were added.I don't know for sure but my guess is that they wired the pickup bar for stereo?
(Bass in one channel, treble in the other?) That would explain 2 volume controls and 2 output jacks...

if it's a stage namerail I dont get the unused hole under the sticker. It looks to good and clean to be custom made.
anyway, use a new sticker to hide the holes you dont need and there you go.

maybe he screwed up drilling holes, and succeeded on his second try  :?

My friend has a 1974 Stage 73 and the namerail has the additional holes in it that are covered up by the sticker. Maybe the factory just always put 6 holes in the namerail and used the stage sticker to cover up the unused holes. Back to the original point though, it definitely looks like soneone has done a splitrail mod to this namrail.

I agree with Bill because I've seen the blank holes before with a stage faceplate.  Maybe it was easier to drill all the rails the same however I think it would save time not to...

I could be wrong, but there really wouldn't be a reason for them to modify-drill this blank hole.  It would also explain why the "accessory jacks" are located in roughly the exact spot of a suitcase.  The drillings here would appear to have room for an accessory jack, 4 pin piano input, and Vol/EQ/Vibrato knobs, just like a suitcase.  It was probably easier to pop through the faceplate for this rail than to drill through the whole thing.

It's possible as I've seen this before that at the factory just threw a stage faceplate over a rail that was available.  They're the same size, and cover the same area.  Who knows though.  Could also be only be in a certain year they did this, as we see it's a "see what works" factory production.

My Rhodes came with some extra inputs/outputs too, but it was done in true handy man style by a "band technician"...He'd also installed a pre amp whith a litre of glue (which received foreign radio stations). I just ripped it out and reconnected the cables from a complete spaghetti pile of loose cables! Look at how this guy just drilled those holes without any regard to the logo...oh well.

i thought all namerails (not early ones) had suitcase control holes, so this hole on a suitcase was for the lead to the amp. already waiting behind the faceplate.

should be two others on its left?
