Hello all I am new to this site, and am an avid player and lover of the Fender Rhodes - One of the great instruments of the 70"s IMO.  I thought it would be great to post some pics of Fender Rhodes with honorable mention to the most unique looking ones.  Here is my vote.

I've always wondered how come every time someone does a custom Rhodes, they never bother to paint the cheek blocks!!!!

That orange Rhodes is for sale at a music store in a suburb south of me.  I have to get down to look at it.  They want $2,000 for it.  It started off much higher, but doesn't seem to be selling.  I think they have hit rock bottom on the price!  I seem to remember the original custom restoration cost 2 or 3 times that with custom orange Anvil case?  Looks like a nice piano, fun color at least.

Rob, your new home piano looks remarkable!  Incredible shape, how does it sound?

I'm going to finish tuning it and then I'll do a detailed post about it.

This guy just emailed me with photos of his piano, as if he were one of the proud owners out there...I didn't know he was selling it!

QuoteHey, here are some pictures of a 1979 Rhodes Mark 1 Stage 73 that I did some custom work on.  I retolexed the keyboard in white, painted the top white, and painted the hardware gold.  For my first tolex/paint job ever, I think it came out alright.  The amp in the pictures is a custom amp that I built, but the cabinet was all done by Mojo Musical Supply.   Hope you guys like it.

I wouldv'e liked to see the cheekblocks white too.  The black sticks out a little too much.

BTW, I caught this All-Wooden VW refurb on Yahoo! News today...

It left me thinking that a Rhodes rebuilt inside a shell made of scrapped Beetle parts would have some sort of cosmic meaning, even if it didn't make the headlines.  Then I started thinking, who would want a Rhodes that weighed around 500 lbs???

White and Gold...perfect for a blingbling movie !

The white amp is necessary too. And the player has to be weared with white clothes too...

But the price tag is a bit to high for me.

The white looks fantastic! I actually don't mind the cheekblocks being black, I think it compliments the other things on the keyboard that are black (black keys, knobs, handles, etc etc).
