I'm really close to getting this keyboard. I just have to sell some things. Btw, if anyone likes Elvin Jones, I'm selling the extremely rare out of print mosaic box set complete blue note sessions! msg me if you're interested. Anyway, if anybody has this keyboard, let me know what you think about it.

I think it's great for what it's intended. You get all the old sounds in very good quality and in a convenient XXS package.

Of course it has its limits, too. The keyboard action is a surprisingly good compromise, but neither 100% like a Rhodes or a grand, nor 100% like a Hammond. Also with the Clavinet sounds I sometimes have troubles with bouncing keys.

Internal effects are nice, but I miss reverb a little. On the other hand, even many small mixers now have reverb, so that's not so bad.

Leakage on the organ is somewhat exaggerated, wish I could change that, but it's probably more a matter of taste than anything else. What it definetly has, though, is that scream on the top end, which I find very addictive. Oh yes, and if you're really into playing organ, of course get a Leslie - although the simulation itself is very good.

Another big plus is the overdrive section - I used to play my V5 with a HK Crunchmaster, actually a fine, high-voltage unit, which is pretty unneccesary now. I find the Electro nails the sound of a saturated AO28 pretty well - at least for my ears.

What else... LED drawbars are naturally pretty different from the Hammond-style stuff, but that depends pretty much on the individual player I guess.

And of course... it won't replace the real thing. But I'm sure you didn't expect that :)

How much do you want for the Elvin Jones set, btw?

Well, that seems like a great deal! The real thing is the real thing is the real thing.
Weighs as much as 7-8 electros though :)

I LOVE my electro. The only thing I would say I don't absolutely love is the higher octave keys sound kind of thin on the wurlitzer and the clav, other than that I have no complaints. If you have any questions/want any recordings just let me know and I'd be more than happy to do it.

Talking 'bout Nord Electro...

The Nord Electro 3 was released in december 08. With a great improved organ section (Nord Electro 2 was ok, but not more...) thanks to the complete implementation of the Nord C1 Organ sounds. Nord Electro is even a step further than the Nord Stage EX for organ sounds...

And the return of the Rhodes Mk1 Suitecase samples in the Nord Electro Library. For me, one of the best Rhodes emulation that you can find in the Nord Electro/Stage. And the possibility to load sounds from Nord Wave, and Nord Stage pianos.

So the new Nord Electro 3 is really a killer machine for the price. And with added effect that many people where missing on the Nord Electro 2 (like reverb)
