Can you help me find a song that features a Rhodes piano?

I've asked elsewhere and gotten nothing but silence, so I'm here to ask the experts:

I am trying to find a funky 70s-era instrumental with Rhodes piano. I keep hearing this song in my head but I can't figure out who it is or what it's called.

It's an instrumental piece, probably a Top 40 hit in the 70s, based around a Rhodes piano riff (I'm pretty sure). It's sort of a musical cousin to "Fight the Power (Part 2)" by the Isley Brothers and "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder (in the latter case, only because of the bouncy Rhodes).

The song starts with the letter "O" and was played on KFRC 106.9FM last Friday night (8/29) about 9:25pm, followed by "Out of Touch" by Hall and Oates (they were playing "O" songs). The DJ didn't announce the name of the song. I tried KFRC's website but they don't have a playlist.

I'll take any and all suggestions. Please let me know if I can add anything else. Thanks!

Just a hunch gunnar, but  I think he's mixing up Rhodes and Clavinet.

Grippy, go check out the song "Outta Space" by Billy Preston and see if that's the one you're thinking of.

Reminds me of a friend of mine who used to work in a record shop where people would come in and hum random things and ask "Have you got a record that sound like that?"  :D

YES!!!!!!! That's the one! Thanks so much; I knew I could count on you. Sorry for the instrument confusion; so that's a clavinet?

Nice lucky guess on figuring out that song, eh?  (Or, alternately: damn I'm good  :P )

Yes, the Clavinet is an electric piano that creates sound by striking basically guitar strings.  The Rhodes is an electric piano that creates sound by striking metal rods called tines.

Here's an example of a Clavinet D6, the most popular model of Clavinet:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmVBN7EGCVs

I love that song! Billy was quite the Rhodes AND Hammond player, as well as clavinet BTW..
