I figured I'd throw this question out there: A Hohner Pianet Clavinet Duo is both a Pianet and a Clavinet, correct? How does the clavinet sound compare to a normal Hohner Clavinet sound? I am thinking about going on the hunt for one.

the sound of  the clavinet part is exactly the same than a model E7 ,
there's only a small difference with the touch it's a bit slower due to the pianet mechanic part .
otherwise the pianet is sound is the same than the T model ;

mixing the 2 sounds is very nice

Really they're rare? Nice, I have one sitting in my room but never really favoured it.

The Pianet part of the Duo is the Pianet T mechanism with wound pickups rather than a capacitance style pickup. The reeds are of a different material and not so finely engineered. So it does not make that more aggressive sound that bands recorded in the 60s and 70s with Pianet N and Combo Pianets.
