Herbie showed up behind dark glasses and a Rhodes Suitcase on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.  Many postings on youtube already:

THe stevie videos were pulled.

Too bad they didn't do a Funk Duet with their Rhodes and their Clavinets and their Moogs!

hahaha I think Lincoln would have gotten off that chair and started dancing.

This is a dream come true.

Two of my wishes fullfilled on ONE happy occasion !

1 : Herbie prominently back on a Suitcase. I don't want to sound blasfemous but hell : AMEN.

2 : Bush and his neoliberal clique flushed elegantly down the smellier sewers of history.
(Will be remembered as the guy who used constant repetition as a means to sell lies.   You know , like how those commercials work on you.)

I like lefties. Musically as well as politically .

For some reason the repetitiousness in Ravels Bolero never bored me.

I can hear that over and over again , with the face of Dudly Moore in my minds eye.

Check the Rhodes and Clavinet:

I too was very glad to see Herbie behind a rhodes once again. I saw him in concert a year or so ago and he was playing what appeared to be a midi board running through a computer. He kept messing with the computer between songs. In my opinion the sounds he was using were very cheesy. The playing was great, but the cheesy tone was driving me nuts. He might as well have been playing on a Casio. I kept thinking the whole time that he should be playing a rhodes instead.

I saw him recently in Manchester UK and it was great. Liked it best when he just sat down and played the piano - amazing - he can do much more trio/solo type playing than generally people seem to talk about. Mehldau, Corea et al are fab, but I reckon Hancock can still probably outdo pretty much anyone in just about any style if he wanted. A true musical adventurer. Perhaps veering onto another thread tho, sorry

Got a bit late night lost Rhodestech R, was thinking we were talkign about left handed piano concertos, like the clip though, poor old Dudley  :(

Oh yeah , now I remember. Herbie played that Concerto for Lefthand by Ravel.

Many jazzplayers are into classical music , but sometimes classical music is converted into Rhodesmusic ......like this one :

Search for "Concert for Obama" - then you have all the stuff.
Tuning instruments makes the band sound thin!

Folks,
It simply didn't get any better than Christina Aguilera and Herbie Hancock.
