Hi,
I wanted to use my microkorg through the suitcase amp of my 1981 MK2 suitcase piano.
connecting it to the preamp inputs on my suitcase bottom (5pin-FR7710)
works fine for the microkorg, but this 'kills' the output of my rhodes.

It's either the Rhodes or external gear (microkorg) through preamp inputs.
Does anyone know a way to combine the two ?

I'm looking for a way to play the rhodes AND the microkorg through the suitcase amp at the same time.

Thanks in advance!

Just plug the Microkorg into one of the line inputs in channel A or B. I used to do this all the time with synths and a nord electro.

this doesn't seem to work for me..

when i plug something into the preamp inputs (channel A or B or both)
it kills the output of the Rhodes..
so i can't play my microkorg and Rhodes through the suitcase at the same time.

Well, I sold my suitcase bottom, but looking at my pictures I have of it, there's channel A and B power amp inputs, that's what I used and was able to play both at the same time. Are you going in to the pre amp outs? Don't think that would produce any sound through the amp though anyways.

If you're going in to the power amp inputs and can't play both at the same time, I'm not sure, maybe something was modded, maybe someone with more electronics experience could help here? Good luck, sorry I can't be of much more help!

If I'm correct, the suitcase bottom amp - when an instrument is plugged into the A or B channels, the instrument takes over that channel.  So, the Rhodes loses channel B for example, and ext. keyboard is now amped through the B channel.  Plugging in stereo keyboard to A and B will take over both channels and Rhodes has no output.

I forget how people did what you're trying to do, hopefully something kicks in the ol memory bank later.  Does it work plugging mono into the accessory jack?  I forget if both work that way.

does your cabinet have preamp outputs ? if so, use a small mixer to mix the korg's with the rhodes' signal. output of the mixer goes to the amp input of the FR.

kind regards

why didn't I think of that?
(preamp out -> mixer -> poweramp in)

thanks everybody!
