I don't know much about them.  I've hooked one up and it plays great alittle bit worn on the tolex case it has legs and the reverb pedal.  I'm thinking about selling it!!  I might evern sell both.  The other one is an almost new looking Mark I that the case is more worn,  i need to buy a cable to see if it plays ok.. It seems like it might have one key thats not as smooth as the others.. What can i do for that?  What should i do with these wonderful instriments?  I really dont have room and i'm not a keyboard player, any advice???

thanks

in virginia.

If you have no room you might want to sell one or both.

So you have one with 4 chome legs and a pedal, the other one - does it sit on a speaker cabinet?

are they "seventy three" or "eighty eight" models?

Your correct.. one is a Mark 1, Stage Piano (seventy three).. Fender Rhodes with chrome  legs and the vibrato pedal and connections to the piano itself.

The other is a Mark 1 (seventy three) and no speaker cab.  It  has the vibrato on the key board with no  pedal.  I need legs for it. But it has alittle more damage to the tolex covering on the case but the piano it's self looks really good. it dont have the legs and i have to buy a 5 pin cable to check it out.  I just the pianos this past weekend.  A widow lady's husband whom just passed away traded them to a fellow in a band i play with.. we worked out a deal.. so i'm learning about these classic pianos.. i'd love to learn "riders on the storm" on it.l. but if i did i might not sell.hahaha   but who knows.. i'm just wondering what they might be worth.. i dont wanna rip anyone.. or be ripped.. just fair is my deal!!   What do you think??

thanks

bru thanks for the hint!! Vibrato pedal... i'm learning man.. sorry.

Mark II

it'a sustain pedal.
the suitcase models do have an vibrato effect, but you wont be able to turn it on or off by means of this pedal.

people,
hes looking for some advice, not to be belittled. just explain what a sustain pedal is rather than linking a wiki article haha!

anyways, it seems you have a MK1 stage(legs+2 knobs) and also a MK1 "suitcase" model which has the stereo vibrato and eq.
The suitcase piano originally was mounted on a large speaker cabinet which also contained the sustain pedal. This is quite a find!

many rhodes pianos are recovered from elderly estates. this is how i came across my rig.

if you remove the plastic harp cover, you should see the label and a few numbers inked on. there should be a 4 digit number in which the first two is the week of the year, and the last two digits; the year the harp was finished.

a mk1 stage piano in medium condition can go for around $500 to $800 depending on location.

if your other rig is in fact a suitcase piano, without the speaker cab. it can run about $200 $400

if you let us know those serial numbers, we could make a better estimation pictures even better,
and thats if youre looking to sell it.
i encourage you to plug em in and see how you vibe with it. These pianos have pure tone, excellent source for any digital effect, not as if they would need any.

let us know.

The Rhodes Ser. # K613 493     4177

the other, Stage Piano Mark 1  Ser # 36308  1874  Model: Stage 73.

Does this help any?  I'll post pics soon...

Thanks again i really appreciate your help..   If i sell them, i'd rather see someone with a passion for these instriments get them than someone who dont know what they have!  I'm and ol' drummer thats been blessed to have some wonderful instriments myself.. that i would not part with.. my problem is room and i dont play piano.. i probably could learn but time is a factor now also...

thanks again...

have a great Memorial Weekend..

The suitcase one that "doesn't have the legs" - If it is a suitcase piano top with no cabinet, it will not have leg flange receptacles (you can't screw any legs into it, because it only sat on a cabinet).  So you can't buy legs for it, there are no holes to put them into.

You would need to either use an x-stand or find a suitcase cabinet bottom to rest it on.  If it does in fact have 4 leg flanges and that 5 pin preamp, then it's a more rare Janus stage piano but I doubt that.
