Does anyone know what year Baldwin started making Electropianos, and when they stopped manufacturing them? Does each string course have its own pickup, like on a CP-70? Does anyone know of a reputable history resource on these? Considering that there is a history of the Baldwin Electric Harpsichord, it's surprising that I can't find one on the Electropiano. There is one on ebay right now. Almost everything I can currently find about them on the internet is either uninformative or erroneous.

The only thing I can tell you about these is that they are even harder to tune than a Yamaha CP and they dont stay in tune as well either.

I have a little info regarding the action but that's about it.

I know a player who used one of those back in the early 80s.

It took three people to move them, and they had lousy tuning.  Case did not hold up well for gigging either.

That doesn't surprise me at all, because Baldwin usually made crappy products.there are exceptions, but they were nothing compared to Yamaha. That's partly why they went out of business. (The name was bought by Gibson, but it's a different company now, hopefully better)

Old topic,
But i actually own a Baldwin electropiano (bought last year as a ''practice piano'' 80$can)
1 string per note (Except for the higher octave, Unlike the picture that seems to only have the lower registrer)
Mine have the electronic below the keyboard, unlike the picture
Sound not very constant, poor quality speaker and amp (bit noisy)... better with headphone.
The bass registrer is nice, but the middle is awful and high registrer sound more like a electric harp than a piano (Insterresting sound)

I don't play anymore with this, i'll give it to a friend.

I made multiple photos for people interrested to see, and i can make audio demos for people who want to hear.
