Meeting Tori Amos! Will ask her about her Rhodes...
« on: May 09, 2005, 09:17:33 AM »
Oh my god! I just found out that I've won a comp and get to go to a sound check and then meet Tori Amos! Really excited as I was watching her Sunny Florida DVD today and was admiring how she had a Rhodes and a Wurlitzer and with her playing - damn they sound good!

Sorry to rabbit on.... just really psyched up and didn't know who to tell!!!

Cheers,

Ok.... that was the MOST amazing experience! I just can't get over how effortless she makes playing the piano look.

Anyway, I was a bit disappointed as she only used the Rhodes for one song in the concert, and that was 'Bells for Her'. But I think it was a 73 key suitcase - I didn't get to see it really close. When I told her that I'd recently bought one and that I loved it she said, "I know! Aren't they so much fun?!"

For a better idea of how she uses her keyboards, check out the 'Welcome to Sunny Florida' DVD. She even has a Wurlitzer on a special stand above the Rhodes and quite often switches between instruments in the one song.

LOL no I didn't kiss her. Got a hug and a photo - she's so short! Only comes up to my shoulders...
