Im interested in getting members opinions  of  what they think is the best value for money portable keyboard with samples of rhodes. and wurlitzer.I dont want to cart my rhodes on the road I prefer to leave it set up at home. I have heard  In Australia ,the Yamaha,( hasnt got a good wurly sound although has an interesting trebly sample of a cp70  and a good quality keyboard) The Casio 410(  the phasing  effect seems a bit muggy, although good value for the bucks, the Gem ( you can independently switch on phasing, chorus, and even digital delay, but its internal speakers are smaller than the Y amana so it is hard to judge its tonal capacity without  hearing it through an amp. Also it doesnt have many samples beside pianos but has  good wurly sounds)the Kawai ( very similar to Gem)and in Australia  :?:

The only keyboard that I like for both Rhodes and Wurlitzer simulation is the new Korg SV-1 but it is not inexpensive. the Yamaha P85 has a great rhodes sample, but no Wurli. It is also much much less money.

Have you considered a Nord Electro? I have the old one, the Electro 2, and I like it.
Tuning instruments makes the band sound thin!

Yes...really not bad. With the new samples that are available for the Nord Electro III, Nord Stage, Nord Piano (sparkletop, Dyno My Rhodes, etc...), i find the Nord instruments even more interesting than the SV-1, as they have more choice of Rhodes models.

The SV-1 is also not bad, Perhaps a little bit to agressive and bright in the higher notes. But the keyboard feeling is very good on the Korg !

Have anybody tried the new CP serie from Yamaha ?

I have to go with the Nord, the SV-1's Wurlitzer samples sound "OK" but I find Nord's far more realistic, compared to the Nord Electro 3, the SV-1's Wurly samples sound a bit cheap.

I don't understand how people keep saying this. I've got a Korg piano with the same RH3 action and it's not really that good. I'd trade it for the Roland action any day.

I still have never tried a Nord or even seen one in person. are they cheaper or more expensive than the SV-1, 73 key? The music stores around here dont seem to carry them.

The Nord I tried out was a lot more expensive than the Korg, I didn't actually realise at the time how expensive it was!!
