Hi.

I have just acquired a rhodes 54 and apart from one note it sounds fine. The G below middle C is muted unless I depress the sustain pedal-  with the sustain down it plays well.

I was just wondering if there was anything I could do to resolve this, as its really annoying! and I think it might be a simple mechanical problem

Thanks for your time,

Fred.

It sounds like the bridle strap for that note may have broken or came undone from the damper or hammer.
This is the strap that pulls down the damper when the hammer raises. The pedal pushes all the dampers down at once a different way.

It may be as simple as reconnecting the strap, but most likely it is the metal tab on the damper broke,in which case you will need to glue it

(there should be a little glue there anyway)
