beatiful animation ;-)
btw, myself I do not yet unserstood the reason why I love that sound ... I could say because it's at the same time a generator of "harmonic dissonaces" and "disharmonic consonances" :-)

Sorry I didn't explain better what the image is, but that is kind of intentional. It's very much worth 1000 words or more. That is one single note strike (F2, right around 87 Hz) by the way.

Bob Moog explains it better than me anyhow.

Good question, I have often thought about this,  just what is it about the sound of the Rhodes that is so compelling? People (myself included) are just CRAZY for the Rhodes, to a level approaching religious fanaticism. I'm not aware of any other keyboard instrument, with the exception of the MiniMoog  perhaps, that inspires this kind of devotion.
I think a part of it is the dynamic range of the Rhodes; it can be the sweetest, prettiest thing you ever heard, but play a little harder, and it magically transforms into a monstrous barking, snarling wall of sound.   All I can say, is thank god for Harold Rhodes:)

thanks Rob A. beautiful curves ... pretty sexy lines.

everyone should know why jingle bells and Rhodes pianos are like close friends.
i still remember that pleasant vinyl smell from a brand new Rhodes piano in 1975. you can't forget this.
