Anyone have an idea how high the Wurlitzer serial numbers went before they ceased production?

Just acquired a pretty sweeet 200a.  Its a later model with the chrome wurlitzer logo on back, serial #15xxxx - however no date stamp inside.  I am guessing it's gotta be around '80/'81.  This is the highest serial I've seen, though I am sure there are higher ones out there...

Any late model 200a owners willing to share their serials, and if possible date stamps?  I want to know what "last" serial number was!!

Just checked the pot codes, and was a bit surprised by what I saw.  Vibrato pot- 1378252 (52nd week, 1982), Aux pot- 1378313 (13th week, 1983).  So this Wurly dates to around April 1983.  I was always under the impression that production stopped in 1982...  Anyone have any solid information on when they actually stopped production?

The pots may have been replaced with later pots...

I will check my serial number when I get a chance, i have a late model also.

I do not know exactly when they stopped production, but Morelock's should know, since Mark worked there then bought out all of the parts.

Hey Steveo, I was thinking the same thing about the pots-  however the speakers have a date code for the 17th week of '83.  While it's possible that someone changed out the pots and speakers, its more likely they are original.  So that means Wurlitzer was probably producing 200a's into the 2nd quarter of '83- though can't imagine much longer past that...

It is possible. Mark Morelock would probably know for sure, though.
I wish that I paid more attention to that at the time. i did own two or three then, but it was before I had my 200A. I had my 700,my 140B, and a 120 briefly circa 1983.

Hi; first time poster: Thread Resurrection: not sure if this has been covered elsewhere, but I think it could be valuable to have a log of data concentrated in one place of serial numbers and pot/speaker codes. If we all enter our data, we should be able to more accurately date Wurlitzer EP's in the future

I have just purchased a 1983 Wurlitzer 200a and already own a 145

The 200a is Serial #153020
Speakers; 17th week of 1983
Volume Pot: 14th week of 1983
aux out pot: 13th week of 1983

Levon's is the last serial number I have seen for a Wurlitzer, so far.  I wish we could get a date stamp from the action rail and keys, as they are bound to be a little later.  This would tell us more or less when they stopped making these.
